To all my fellow non meat eating folks, the Beefless Bulgogi is a 10/10 Although I think it tastes more like carne asada than bulgogi. I would recommend thawing it a bit on the counter and cooking it in a pan instead of the microwave.

I would love to see a kimchi from different stores video. Like Costco kimchi vs sams club kimchi vs target’s Seoul vegan kimchi. We don't have trade Joe's in the UK, but Korean food is becoming more accessible in the bigger stores like Tesco, asda, Lidl, so it's nice to see that we can also experience other cultural foods, even if they are not the authentic version 😊

I feel like as soon as Korean dramas started to become available on the internet, it helped along the rise in interest in America. My sisters and I watched Boys Before Flowers over ten years ago and while it scarred us (I was heartsick over Ji-hoo and my sister became obsessed with Lee Min-ho), it also sparked a never-ending addiction to kdramas. Coffee Prince is still my favorite of all time.

@@Js_Son83 as a trader Joe's worker definitely ask if they sell it at their store. Sometimes things are only at certain locations. But they can easily look it up in the system and if they do sell it at your local store and it's sold out they can get a date for you on when it'll be back :). They can also tell you when the frozen truck shipment comes in so you know to pick it up around that time!

I would go back and get the frozen Japchae! It's sooo good. And the tofu soup
I would love to see more videos like this but at other grocery stores and maybe even chain restaurants
I think you had a bad batch of kimchi. I’ve gotten kimchi from there and most of the time, it’s been ok- comparable to most American super market quality. One of the best Korean items (I ALWAYS get when I go to TJ) is the frozen PaJeon. It tastes like the PaJeon my mom used to make growing up.

I think you'll like their Bibimbap, I ate that everyday at work when it was available and never got sick of it. Their japchae wasn't too bad either! And I love their spicy tteokbokki, though I do add more gochujang for the added spice level.
I am a big fan of the ttoekbokki as well, although I don't find it spicy. So I add some of the gochujang paste into the sauce to spice it up a bit. But it is a great lunch.
I found the tteokbokki to be soooo sweet. Texture good though. They also sell sliced tteok in the freezer section!
I’m so glad you liked the tteokbokki because I think it’s delicious!! I also liked the fried rice, but I should have done an egg too because it doesn’t have much meat. I also made the mistake of getting the kimchi and I hadn’t had kimchi that much and I was wonder if it should taste as bad I did..I am confident now with your review that it should not have tasted so sour and smelled like.. moldy sponge
this was really chill to watch, thanks for the review!
I recently bought TJ's "Sliced Korean Rice Cakes" which worked well to make 떡국. I also bought TJ's "Squiggly knife cut noodles" (I found them like 2 months ago, but haven't seen them since- it came in a 4 pack like ramen); I've never had any real 칼국수 to compare it to, but I'm curious what you think of it (if you find it). I saw frozen japchae once there too. Thanks for this video. I buy their tteokbokki whenever I can find it! I'll have to go buy some kalbi ASAP.
Not reviewed in this video, but the TJ pa jeon is lit. All of the satisfaction without the lingering oily smell all over your home after making it from scratch. Also, the TJ tofu kimchi stew, which is pretty much their version dubu jigae, but vegan, is pretty good, but just a tad sour (probably using their own kimchi.). It’s good with kim and brown rice.
I haven’t had access to the rice cakes for tteokbokki lately and was skeptical of the Trader Joe’s ver. Good to know it’s a good option while I can’t get them. Thank you for the review 💜💜💜
I just had the tteokbokki and pajeon for dinner today and I liked both a lot! I like that the tteok has a good balance of sweet and spice, I’m a mild baby who needs a lot of flavor to balance spice in order to eat large quantities of it 😂 Idk if you got the japchae but I’ve had that before and it’s really good! Ty for this review. Also I had kimbap recently for the first time and thought of your videos 😊
Food looks sooo good 😍
I like your reviews. You are honest. An honest person is always a good person.
Loved this vid! Thanks for the hot tips- I trust you like that lol
Love this!! Also I am so glad you roasted their kimchi.. I live in DMV and I was SO upset by the taste 😭

Not Mr. Joe trying to kill you with that kimchi. Loved the video! You have such a calm but engaging presence.

thank for trying the tteokbokki bc i wanted to get it the last time i went to trader joes but was worried i wouldn't like it BUT NOW I WILL GET IT
Well now I wanna try that fried rice, seaweed snacks, and those rice cakes. :)
My parents usually buy the LA galbi from TJs over making it at home. It’s actually pretty good! 🤤
I felt the same way about the kimchi! Thanks for sharing
I loveee Trader Joe’s gochujang! It tastes as good as the one I get at my local Asian market.
Used to go to that Atlantic Ave TJs every single day for lunch, the best!
I always get the frozen pajeon from TJs, it's so good, I also like their tteokboki, and the hotteok, there's a big Korean community from where I live, so there are a lot of Korean restaurants and Korean groceries nearby. I really like Korean rice wine (makgeolie)? Idk how to spell it lol...

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the kimchi & tofu soup at TJ’s! :)
aww i liked the kimchi from trader joes only when i cant find it anywhere else, i like the little packaging too
This is SO helpful! Our local Korean market is close, so it's been hard to take the risk but sometimes TJs really does a great job! I've been eating the frozen galbi for a long time (I live in CA, it has been available way before all the other stuff) but lately the quality of the meat has felt like it went way downhill...I hope it's temporary. Will try the tteokboki soon, I just automatically assumed the sauce would be too sweet. Lol, and will add fishcake and egg.
we chop the beefless bulgolgi to small bite size and add it to our japchae. its cheaper than mushrooms and meat in our area and adds umami to the dish. however, you have to sear it, microwave makes it rubbery...
As a Mom, I think you are adorable! ❤ I am going to try the items that you liked. My son has been in South Korea for the past year, so I’m very interested in the foods he may be eating.
Now I gotta go buy the tteokbokki!!
Even bibigo at Costco and grocery store are so good
I've tried the Tteokbokki from TJ and gotta say they were delicious :)
Honestly, every single time I see a BTS member/s eat Korean food, I'd make a plan to visit my Korean grocery store that weekend (it's 40 mins away). Knowing there are at least some Korean food items at Trader Joe's that's good makes it so much easier. Thank you for the review!
Wait, there's a store on Jericho turnpike, H Mart, I believe. I'm in Brooklyn too and the family takes a trip there now and then. Really interesting place.
Try Costco Korean food next. They have pretty good kimchi
L.A. stands for longitudinal axis, referring to the anatomical orientation of the cut through the beef rib
Hi. For comparitive purposes, it's always best to go with the recommended cooking method. Not just microwaving, which usually has a negative effect on texture.
I love snacking on dried flavored seaweed (Korean BBQ or kimchi). My coworkers cringe but I love it. 😋
I always wonder what the best jarred kimchi is when I go into HMart or other asian grocery stores. I’ll have to check out tobagi next time too!!! ✨✨

I just picked up the Tteok Bok Ni from Traders Joe’s. I’m following along with your video as I have never tasted it before. Can you tell me how long should I air fry this item and at what temperature? Also is that water you added to the pan or oil for the Tteok Bok Ni?
