I Trained Like "Jeff Cavaliere" For 30 Days

Ойын-сауық

For the last 30 days, I trained like Jeff Cavaliere aka Athlean-x! This was a tough challenge but I pulled through and had some remarkable results!

Camera was closer, lighting different, and different coloured clothes. If you look really really closely, the only real noticeable diff was in the legs, which isn't surprising if you've moved from just body weight exercises to adding weighted deadlifts and squats. Not at all knocking Athlean-X, it's on point, especially on how to not ruin your body and how to deal with injuries, best weights channel on YT. But taking a guy who was already ripped at near peak fitness, and trying to improve him over 30 days is not really going to do a lot.

That's good progress! I'm old now, but back in 2000's I began training with a dude named Dan Fa'asamala' (we called him Mr. Fa'asamala). His both his sons broke records. He took my bench from 180 to 325. IN 6 MONTHS. It was closer to 5 months. The thing he always said before I lifted was "You're the only one down there, you have to have house son". 'House' was his saying for you need to have your foundation centered and in focus. In 2 months I went from 180 to 240, then it went straight to 285, then 300 then 325. Dan used this 'suicide inside grip' which I now don't recommend because you can get your wrists lined up without it (science proved it, I didn't know better then). He released a book called 'The Power Guru of Monsta Garage: How Dan Fa'asamala's Methods Make Men into Bench Pressing Monstas' on Amazon. The pictures in the garage is where I worked out too (I'm not in any of the pics though). Anyway, you can get there. I can't bench 325 anymore because It's not something I'm after, but I could do it if I wanted again.

@@Victor-pv5sc yeah Jeff cavalier who manipulates his cult followers with fake weights, tells people to breath out during squats on the descent, and recommends physically impossible programs like doing 70-80% 1rm squat for 10x10 with one minute rest in between sets. Yeah that guy has no clue how to fucking program. Unless you are a complete newbie to to the world of fitness this should be obvious. Btw don’t even give me the canned, ‘but his degrees’ response his cult followers always tout. The fact he doesn’t know the valsalva maneuver makes him the equivalent of a calculus professor who doesn’t understand basic addition. His channel is only good for physical therapy advice and nothing else.

@@johnwayne1069 the legs and glutes are strong muscles. There comes a point where they would just stop growing with just bodyweight. You can keep raising volume at first but beyond a certain point it turns into endurance training. The most consistent way I found would be sprinting with the aim of progressively getting better times (because it trains power) but it can be a bit impractical to train especially at home

Awesome Video :D I just wanted to warn everyone here about the negative consequences of incorrectly performing exercises with too much weight. Especially with the deadlift you have to be very, very careful and should definitely only practice the form with the barbell first. I did the deadlift once and I did it wrong and the result was lower back pain for months. So take care! :)
