I have watched this and have 3 of these Helios lenses of differing vintages. However, I think I will buy some camera lens repair tools before I go for it :) By the way, your videos have not been showing up in my feed which is nice - I love how KZread has decided that I don't like you any more.

I've heard you can make similar (if not more intense) effects by inverting the rear element on it, too. Really tempted to do this with my Helios. Easy to do and reversible! Combine that with my X-T4 and M42 to X mount adaptor and its science time!

On the inside of the lens shroud out front is one of 3 icons that denote the place of manufacture. This video from Simon's utak kzread.info/dash/bejne/g4GH0bKEXdLRaLQ.html shows the glass flip mod process in more detail and it also appears to be the Valdai manufactured variant of the 44-2
