    You are doing very well. Your videos are clean, properly timed and you usually manage to make the b-roll informative. They feel authentic and you know what you are talking about. I wouldn't change much at all. And, please, don't design your very own telescope in your very own colors with your very own accessories ;)

    I have the Skywatcher 12" Quattro telescope. Its a beast! One thing I had to do was create a light shield to put over the back on the mirror cell to block stray light. When I would take darks, I would have these rings of light showing up and I determined it was light coming in from the back of telescope. You can make one easily out of carboard or even maybe a fabric cap to put over the end. Good luck with the new telescope!

    Hey there! - I bet the 12" quattro is a wonderful scope to own and use, they really are a pretty chunky scope aren't they! :-D Since posting this video I've created a light baffle to do just as you describe, it's working perfectly! - I also taped the tube seams too to block any stray light from entering around the mirror cell to tube joint :-) Thank you so much for watching and giving your advice!

    Great video as always matey, as for helping you improve your content, I wouldn’t know where to start. I also would love to make the odd video for personal use and documentation of the odd night under the stars, but wouldn’t know where to start unfortunately. I think your videos are awesome! The way you come across is great and user friendly and the content is fantastic. From the explanation of equipment to night sky knowledge is spot on. Maybe some fancy new annotated intro with some of your best shots and some equipment shots, or maybe an annotated target intro section. Maybe even a target of the month section for viewers of your channel and a page for people to submit these images and a shoutout each month. That may help with community interaction. Set up free data for people to access and process. I’ve gone a little off track 😂😂. Anyway, if you’ve any tips on how to create videos for me, I’d be grateful 😂👍

    Thank you Matt!! - Re: 15s subs, it was just as part of an experiment really, I wanted to see how well the data would stack on a target like this using that approach - it worked out well in the end I think! on the note of actually stacking it up, it didn't take too long really! i just popped all of the frames into astropixelprocessor and about an hour later I had a master file ready to use :-D Thanks for watching!!

    Congrats on 5k. Careful matey, all that weight on the mount and you didn't lock the spider trusses on the legs on the tri pier. Locking the legs may also help with your guiding as it should limit movement/vibrations on the bottom of the pier

I wish we had a wider doorway so I could get it out with the legs extended as then I'd absolutely use the locks, you're quite right! :-) Thank you so much for watching bud! Clear skies :-)

    What a whopper!! Congratulations Luke on the new scope and the milestone subscribers,don’t be so surprised, you deserve the accolades😊. From a personal perspective I can say that you have helped me tremendously, not only through your videos, but also outside the KZread forum, thank you. A cup of coffee a month is so little to pay for so much information. With your request on video content I would like to see the little things that for you will come naturally but leaves a question mark for me. Is my guiding good enough at 0.7 ? Do I need to “ fine tune “ my EQ6R pro for pec, etc. What are good settings in the asi air for dec and ra aggression settings? With such rare opportunities at the moment for clear skies this sort of preparation would save acquisition time. By the way Luke, the Flourostar 91 has arrived and I have managed first light with it😊 when I have an image I’m prepared to show you I’ll be in touch. Thanks again, clear skies.

    Don’t be impressed by 5,000 subs. Luke your channel is fantastic. Your narration is always to the point and interesting. The only reason you don’t have hundreds of thousands of subs is simply because it hasn’t reached those folks yet. I often thought about putting my 10” dob on a mount but I think the wind would stop me at my location. I have a product suggestion for you. Look up Baader Turbo Film. I outfitted all of my reflectors with it. It’s phenomenal. Anyway congratulations and clear skies.

RE: putting your 10" dob on a mount, that'd be a heck of a video subject! I hear you 100% about the wind though, it's a real consideration with big scopes for sure Thank you again for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts Garnett, I really appreciate it bud! Great vid. What's yourvfeelings now on the esprit 120, which goes deep enough by itself just flattened, compared to the deep but fast newts? What sticks out the most, speed, colour, resolution or? Congrats on the 5k too.

  • @lukomatico

    @lukomatico

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey there mate! - Thanks so much :-) RE: what do I think to the Esprit, good question! - I've been using it again recently and I have to say it's always a pleasure! I think the thing that sticks out the most with the esprit vs my newts is A: - the general ease of use and also relative ease creating good calibration frames. B: - the speed, the refractor 'feels' faster than f5.4 (reduced), likely due to using lenses and an unobstructed design, it seems to go deep just as easy as the big newts, but the target isn't as large in the FOV of course due to the smaller focal length. Detail is still crisp though with the refractor, it's a great scope! Hope that helps mate! P.S - I will look into doing a comparison video between the Esprit 120 and maybe 300PDS shooting the same target. that should be an interesting thing to do!

    Also, got an Ocal Collimator which has made collimating much easier. not clear if BETTER yet, but definately easier. Do you plan on fitting a fan onto the back of the primary ? I was thinking it might be an idea on mine to help stop dew. Just hope the EQ6 can cope with it.

  • @lukomatico

    @lukomatico

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey mate! - the ocal looks interesting for sure, I'd imagine it would be very good indeed at it's job 👍👍 On the note of a fan, I've not bothered on mine, just installed a foam blanking plate for now to block stray light :-) I might need to look into it for next winter though I guess! Re: eq6, it'll be a challenge mate I won't lie to you, I had a 300pds on an eq6 a few years back myself - the mount can handle the weight but you'll need nice flat calm nights of course, and excellent balance :-) you'll master it I'm sure my friend 🙏 Good luck and clear skies!
