I love that you talked to Helena as if she could hear you. Maybe she can, and she’s so pleased to have people enjoy her book 120 years later. Incredible.
Florence Nightingale’s sister was named Parthenope, the Ancient Greek name for Naples, where she was born.
I love Miliora, I think it should definitely make a comeback!
I can confirm that Lolotte is used as a nickname in France for Charlotte
Loved Larkin ❤ so gentle sounding
I had a keziah in my class last year. She pronounced it kezz-ee-ah. I ADORED her name

Yes this is the pronunciation I know and love!! Our friends call their little one Kez for short, so so sweet and suits her cheeky personality
Thank you for revisiting your vintage book! I'm glad it's brought you luck! I love Merewine, Larkin, Lilias, and Keziah. A few of these would work well for pets - Here Numps! Here Mungo!
Meaning aside, I adore Nona! It's sweet and punchy sounding. Lilias, Larkin, Madoc, Madge, Merewine, Marceline, Peregrine, Renfred, Rollo, Salome, Tabitha, Tibal, Venora, Vergil/Virgil, Winnifred, Yvaine- Helena was a woman of taste. ✨️

I like ninth better as a meaning, but since I speak Italian, I just hear Nona as grandma. It doesn't help that the only lady I know named Nona is elderly LOL

I love poppy and Fable - Merewine would add such a cool mix to them both x
I know this is TLDR but I was inspired by this video! xx I had fun looking things up 🤩 You quickly mentioned Randall; I've recently found out some cool family history regarding that name! My maternal grandfather's last name is Randall. Directly along the paternal line with no deviations, we are from England: my 9th great grandfather Robert Randall was born in 1608 in Wendover, Buckinghamshire and was the first Randall to land in America, known then the Massachusetts Bay Colony. He wrote a 14-page letter to his descendants, which I thought was pretty fortuitous, and though he was a landowner, he thankfully did not enslave anyone (as far as I know anyway) Some interesting names I saw around that family line: Male names: Ephraim (1600's), Nehemiah (now there's a Hebrew name I haven't heard!), Jotham Female names: Zeri, Keziah, Mercy, Hester. I love Hester (my 8th great-grandmother)? or grandaunt? Something like that ☺) because she lived in Massachusetts precisely in the time/setting of Hester Prynne in The Scarlet Letter. She would have been in 23 years old during the Salem Witch Trials. Thankfully, she lived in the Plymouth Colony some 60 miles away. Well, Hester has just jumped to the top of my list!

I love this thanks so so much! Hester is super cool! xx
That name book is such a gem ! Thanks for sharing it. I quite like Myrtilla.
sobriquet means nickname! ☺ Miliora is pretty, and i love Larkin - especially with Lark as a nickname - also quite like Parafox as an unusual choice - love how similar it sounds to Paradox! Keziah is a biblical name with the meaning - like Cassia - of cinnamon! 💕
I'm so excited for the return of the vintage baby name book! ❤
"Numps" is low-key hilarious 😂 I love the sound of Merewine but I would definitely read it and think it was pronounced "wine" at the end like the drink and would worry about that happening when other people read the name. Oddly I don't do that pronunciation for Peregrine in my head though, and never have. So weird how our brains do this. 😅

It's really hard to pronounce some endings isn't it! Wine/Win is a tough one x
A sobriquet (sob-ree-kay) does indeed mean a nickname!

Thanks for part 2, I really enjoyed it 😊 Myrtilla is my favourite.
Kesiah is on the top of our list as it's the name of one of my husband's ancestors from the early 1800s. Her first and middle were Keziah Keturah, what a name huh? They're both on our list, but 4 boys so far 😂

So many pretty ones in this part too! Almost wish we'd not already settled on a name for my second as I love a lot in here. Names for characters instead I guess lol
Oh it would be amazing if you’re doing your own baby name book! 🤩 x
Oh I love Romwyn!! 😍😍
Marceline is so pretty, I heard it before and forgot it existed. I love it !
I have a friend in her 90’s from Kentucky: Annzulett
Love Jocosa, Leoline, Lilias, Seabert, and Venora.
Hi SJ , I absolutely love your videos! Would you consider making a video of hispanic names? I would love to know what they sound to you as a native English speaker ❤ My first language is Spanish and I live in Mexico but I would love to name my baby with a “universal” name or to at least make sure that it doesn’t sound terrible in other parts of the world 😂 thanks❤

There were a few good ones on her rising US names! We have so many over here. Many families look for bilingual names and I feel like we have endless options. Some of my favorites are Matteo, Diego, Xiomara, Araceli. Many others are popular here too.
My great-great grandma was a Keziah! I think Kitto is so cool but I'm always crshing on -o names (baby girl is named Ipo!).
2:15 in - I was watching young master chef with my mum & this name was one of the young chef's telling part
sobriquet means nicknames. I like Jocosa, Josselyn, Junios, Katinka, Keziah, Leoline, Lilias, Loveday, Madoc, Marceline, Miliora, Myrtilla, Peregrine, Renfred, Rollo, Romwyn, Sampson, Sophonisha, Tabitha, Tracy, Ulrik, Venora, & Vergil. I could use Miliora, Marceline, Myrtilla, & Tabitha easily for a few projects.
I love Redwald and Konrad
Partha - nope like (the) Parthanon I also maybe wondered 🤔 I love Mungo!❤
I found today in a galary name of one painter 18 century Godwin, never heard!) Redwald also amazing name!!!

To add to the Leo variations my French Canadian grandfather's name was Leonielle and we had no idea, yes even his children, as he always went by Neil. I discovered it decades after his death when I was doing genealogy research.

WOw!! Neil is so simple compared to Leonielle - such a cool find!
I had heard of Leoline but spelt without the E, Leolin, maybe said Lee O Lin? I really like it. Raoul is so cool but not sure if I am brave enough to use it! Tyg is a lovely Irish name, I think it's Irish spelling would be Tadhg.

Elias, Penelope (Piper), Matilda (Tilly), Toby
Jocelyn is my mums friends name so i hear it occasionally lol normally my mum saying i saw/talked my friend lol
Our sons name is Rollo, a family name on my husbands side of the family as well 😊❤
NUMPS 😅
Mildgyth: "mild" meaning gentle or soft rather than like, "mid". So not so much medium gift as you say, but more like "sweet little gift". Although there are girls names all over the world that mean basically " consolation prize" or "should-have-been-a-boy"

Salome is Sal-ohm and it’s actually one of the women in the Bible who discovered Jesus’s empty tomb. I have a friend named Salome Consorcia. Always so jealous of her name 😅
@BK-ef8wf

Definitely pronounced Sal-oh-may. It is biblical that is correct she killed John the baptist. Also found in an Oscar wilde play.
My mums middle name is Nona, she passed it to my sister. Was her aunts name. Apparently we have Italian ancestors somewhere in the tree I haven’t found it through paperwork, wondering if an illegitimate child along the lines, so hoping doing the dna swob will unlock the story. 🤞🏽 Sadly my sister who’s non verbal autistic won’t be having children, mum wanted me to carry it on. (Another boy so not going to happen) Apparently my great aunt was an air hostess and someone famous liked the name and used it for their child. Motley crew also have a song called Nona, he sang it about his grandmother as that’s what he called her.

My maiden name is Joslyn. My brothers are often called by their last name by friends, sometimes shortened to Jossy. I asked my husband if we could use it as a middle name for our daughter who I am 18 weeks pregnant with but he said no. Sigh.
My daughter's name is Peregrine!
