Sam, speaking of Al Capone, according to a biography I recently watched he had Chicago officials on his payroll. Capone also tried to influence Eliott Ness. Capone sent one of his men to visit Ness. He handed Ness a wad of cash. Ness took the cash and stuffed it into the messengers pocket. Eliott Ness was truly an Untouchable.

I grew up watching Sam Donaldson and Walter Cronkite. I miss the days when news needed to be balanced by law. Cable changed things due to them not being broadcast news, which the law applied to. Cable never got that bad until Trump. He screwed everyone… especially the ones he’s caught in his web!

It was a loss leader... therefore, there was no incentive to be misleading, or editorialize all day, or any of the other dishonest things that the cable news are guilty of today.

Well I'd prefer we not have to wait for "history to show it." At the rate things are going there might not be anyone left for history to show. Obviously at least one law was broken because he was in possession of these documents. He needs to be indicted and stand trial and depending on the level of his crimes, like maybe he sold national security intel, he should face real consequences, maybe even like the Rosenbergs faced.

Sam always played it down the middle and told it like it was no matter what. Just to hear him speak from time to time is really refreshing to hear! Real Journalism 101

This is why Sam is a not to be taken seriously old school reporter to watch very often, brilliant to see this guy on tv again. But to his point on Trump is most definitely on target. This ruthless man (Trump) will behind bars no questions asked.

Rallying cry for the Democrats, "Too Big To Rig!," Meaning you have to pound the living hell out of these lying Repub grifters in the upcoming elections, and frankly, all future elections. Just try calling foul when you lose every election by 30 percent! We need to excoriate these phony Republicans to such an extent that will be out of power for a decade. By then, the whack-jobs will have left and the conservatives might actually form a serious, public minded party. Imagine having a government where both sides -- the Dems ain't perfect either -- try to pass laws for the common good! But for now, the right-wing nut-jobs need to be given a nice "time out," so people can work out these serious problems in the US.

Easy way to tell when someone is lying: when they keep changing their explanation on the documents, some of which contradicts itself. If they were declassified, why were they locked in a safe and why not hand them over with the other documents you gave back.
