The Founding Fathers specifically chose the title "President" over "King" for a couple of reasons stemming from the American Revolution: -Rejection of Monarchy: The entire fight for independence was against British rule under a king. Having a king in their new government would've contradicted those ideals of liberty and self-governance. -Limiting Power: "King" implied absolute power, something the Founding Fathers greatly distrusted. "President" signified someone who leads, but within a system of checks and balances.

You haven’t read the decision have you? It’s only 119 pages. Go read it, and realise this is all lies what Biden said, they clearly set out parameters of limitation for official acts, and clearly set out a definition between official and private acts. They also sent back down two parts of the majority decision down to the circuit court to review again, allowing for the augmentation of charges against Trump. People that cannot read basic fucking law should be quiet. I’m sick of seeing this “King” shit, you don’t know what your talking about, and you look ignorant and stupid to anyone with the ability to think independently.

Besides, this ruling does nothing to help Trump as all the cases against him are imploding anyway. I might agree with you, but unfortunately the justices did not provide clear definitions of "official acts" or the "outer perimeter" of official authority. They explicitly do not rule if Trump authorizing fake electors based on a motive of "election integrity" is an official act or an unofficial act (as a candidate). It's true that the court rules based on historic precedent, ruling that THIS has historically been the case so we rule that THIS is the case today. However, this Court has remarkably acted against historical precedent recently with Roe. And this immunity case shows instances of never-before-seen acts for which there is no clear historic ruling, so the Court should have a responsibility to set precedent here. Here, the highest Court in the land has largely passed the buck, shrugged off their responsibility and extended the time this case takes by ruling that lower courts should define official and unofficial acts for this case, while an election deadline draws nearer. Supreme Court reform should be drafted up by Congress.

Don't you think it's slightly coincidental that all these events some from 4 years ago... some from like 20 are now surfacing before the November election... The truth is: your presidents are AND have been above the law for a long time- there are still many restrictions. These are only acts that can be deemed official. I can guarantee you that anything deemed ONLY for personal gain, contested by congress etc would be challenged in the courts as not being official acts. Chill out and don't believe all the shit.

Why are the politicians getting the bad rep. Not politicians did this before the "businessman" became a politician, riding on the wave of discontent with politicians in general, just to do 10x what people said the were angry for normal politicians to do. Kneejerk anger against politicians need to stop. Because they are actually what we need , good ones. That keeps to the laws of the country , doesnt try to overthrow it. Politicians are us people running to present our constituents, and if all politicians are seen as bad preemptively, we will always ruin it for our selves. Politicians are actually required to be transparent, and can be held accountable and work for us more than any other. That is why it is good and needed to critise them, however dont let critique, fool us into the thought that every politician is incompetent, they not, they are just in the center. And replacing them with "business men" that abhor transparency and doesnt understand the duties of a public servant, will make us 10 times worse of, with much less accountability.

If you had watched the oral arguments you would know there were almost as many questions on how this would effect the Obama drone strikes as there were about trump. Do you not realize that without this standard every past president would be behind bars.
