Exactly that’s why I’m big on free will. You can try to help a person by educating them and praying to God for His direction but never try to make someone do something by force through using God’s Word and guilt trip anyone into anything because YOU think it’s God’s will what you want them to do.

I am busy wondering if God gives us free will to the point that He decides not to know beforehand what we will choose... Because: after Abraham had Isaac on the altar and was about to go for the knife to sacrifice him as God had asked, He stopped him and said "NOW I KNOW" that you love Me, cos you didnt spare your only son... and i think God's heart was so blessed and overjoyed to find someone who loved Him near as much as He loved them... though God did go through with sacrificing His Son for us... ❤ I have set before you life and death... now choose life. The enemy is the one bent on control by whatever means: fear, manipulation, intimidation, complacency, selfishness, arrogance, desires, addictions... everything is a trap with him... Praise be to God who Loves us! And may we bless and overjoy His heart as Abraham did, with our love for Him! ❤

But if God doesn't allow things to play out just because He knows what we are going to do, then He might, as well just stop the world. He knows, if we will choose Him or reject Him. Just like He knew what abraham was going to do. God chooses to do things this way for His glory. Not only that, but us actually doing the action that God knows we are going to go, helps strengthens us, grows our faith, etc. It helped grow Abraham's faith and trust in God.

So true. If the Holy Spirit is asking you a question, we can be assured that it's not because God needs clarity! Just like a good parenting technique when we ask our children a question about something that is potentially harmful or bad for them that they want or want to do and we already know the answer. We just want them to think about it so they can learn how to discern good from bad or right from wrong.

Religious spirit - uses Gods word to do their own will. - manipulation, confused , red flags - don't believe or don't go behind and lovingly leave quickly /immediately with kindness , don't argue or quarrel leave it in love n kindness and don't watch at all. 1. If you pray and you think God listens, why can’t he talk. Why does he have a mouth? When did he cease to talk? If he doesn’t talk, how do sinners come to know him if they can’t hear his voice calling? You’ve been taught wrong, God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Cathilicism, budism, islam, hinduism... Cannot provide salvation. Only knowing God from the scripture and understand his word will bring you salvation. Repentance from sins, baptism and faith in Jesus Christ is the way. God's word is authority and he is a ruler not man.

I was taught that there is the “ letter” of the law and there is the “ spirit” of the law. We must keep the “ spirit” of the law which is the most “ loving and merciful ” thing to do. It has all the “attributes of God” in it. If we keep just the letter of the law without the tender mercy & compassionate forgiving love of God and just keep the rules and regulations of it --then it becomes the actions of one with a “religious” spirit. We must balance mercy and justice that God exemplifies in His word and keep mercy in our hearts and in making decisions.Mercy must precede our judgement when keeping the law. “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 Like it says at the end if the book of “Micah 6:8 ” Do what is right, love mercy and walk humbly with your God. “

I really enjoy John’s way of speaking and some of his teachings. But this is what I struggle with; when he says things like “God spoke to Me, I heard God tell me..etc” .. as if they were having an audible conversations. We all know you can’t hear God audibly, but he uses those phrases so lightly it only confuses me rather than increase my faith.

Why do you believe God will not speak audibly? However, that internal conversation is one that becomes so clear that when He speaks, its distinction is very clear to the hearer. Your hesitation is healthy. How should we always respond? Take it to prayer and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to us on the matter. Teachers challenge us to take what they teach to the TEACHER of teachers.

It’s not that I Don’t believe God will not speak audibly. But in the Bible, God speaking audibly is the exception, Not the ordinary. I find it hard to believe John is having this back and forth conversation with the Holy Spirit. He claims he “KNOWS” when God asks him a question he isn’t actually asking him a question.. how does he know that, I’m in my journey to become a Pastor, so it’s not like I’m ignorant to the word of God. I know God can put thoughts in your head, feelings in your heart, speak to you through is word, through a preaching/prophecy. But my doubt is him having this audible back and forth conversation with God. If he read it from a book then he should say “I read this in a book and God helped me understand it this way” or if God put it in his mind then he should say “God brought this to my mind” .. but when you teach it in a way that sounds like you’re having a back and forth conversation with the Holy Spirit .. that sounds kind of not real. And if I’m missing something, what is it? If I can hear God audibly, how does one earn that privilege?

Maybe John means he had a revelation? The Holy Spirit comes to you in your thoughts. You just have to discern between your thoughts, Holy Spirit thoughts or thoughts from the devil. The more you learn the Word from the Bible, you can ascertain which is which. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

@@annettelalonde1977 I agree and what John may have meant. However his language is confusing which is what I’m referring to. If it was thoughts that came to him why doesn’t he say that. Most of his teachings, he talks as if he wants have an audible full on conversation with God and it’s confusing because I’m intentional about my relationship with God, I read a study the word, I pray as much as I can, practice fasting as well. And have never heard the Voice of God the way he describes it.

There is way too much room for error to claim the Holy Spirit is conversing with you. We are not Isaiah or Samuel or Jeremiah. We have the Word. It is sufficient. We have prayer. We can ask for wisdom and the Word is renewing our mind. No need for imaginary dialogue. It is dangerous.
