Haha. When I was 9, I almost choked to death on cheese at Smokey's Pizza in Hazel Dell, WA. A guy named Jim Harrington gave me the Heimlich and saved my life. The story made the local news the next day. KATU interviewed my mom and me outside our house. My mom acted to the news like she was so worried at the time, but you know what? She acted nothing but embarrassed the whole time it was happening. I'll never forget theat. While the guy was giving me the Heumlich, I lost consciousness and everything. From my perspective, one minute I was choking, literally TO DEATH, and the next, I'm waking up huffing and puffing with streams of pizza and drool running down my face all over my shirt. On my 10th birthday, Jim sent me a card. Great guy. If it weren't for him, I for sure would have died because my mom wasn't doing jack squat beyond hiding her face in her hands.
