The twist in the State Farm skit ending was SUCH a cherry on top! Chef's kiss, Writers. This shit doesn't write itself! Pay the writers, end the strike, and get back to making seriously funny skits!

The State Farm sketch was great but in general SNL needs new writers. 80% of the sketches have been truly unwatchable they've been so bad. Weekend Update has been consistent but in general they need to clean house.

That sketch works because the Jake from StateFarm character really sucks in the actual commercials. It's the worst kind of corporate design-by-committee bullshit. By contrast, Flo and the Limu Emu (and Doug) are glorious insanity.

@@johrathbun That wasn't pre-taped. It was more of a physical comedy routine paired with Ego's impeccable timing, and being live was part of it's success. It's always funny when people break, sure. It was a different sort of sketch altogether.

They did. That's why WGA strike ended in early October (it took another month for the SAG-AFTRA strike to end, but hey, it's over).

If I had a nickel for every time I've seen an SNL sketch where Mikey gets his family taken over by a marvel actor I would have two nickels, which isn't a lot but its weird it happened twice

Honestly a majority of the enjoyment I get out of SNL is from pre-taped, more well produced sketches. It opens up the door for a lot more creativity, and they could probably pivot very well into a large scale online sketch based channel that would translate well into shorts/tiktoks, as well as continued YT uploads

The Southwest Airlines “Computer Jokes” are spot on. Their network is a Frankenstein nightmare of multiple apps that do the same thing because nobody gives a shit. My boss told me “We are the Wal-Mart of airlines.” Then HIS boss echoed the exact same thing word for word. Anyone who criticizes the pile of crap they built, they are swiftly shown the door. I left after I pointed out the pile of dog shit on the floor that everyone pretend not to see so they wouldn’t have to pick it up.

It was too funny. That's what I like about the show. The staff catches on to what people are talking about or viewing on social media and writes it in a sketch within 1 to 2 weeks.

He's gonna snore all night and then he stops. 😂 All of us that have shared a bed with a big boy know how true this is 🤣
