Please have her on as a series-this was so fun and uplifting

Anne this was the best call ever. You’re an absolute pleasure to listen to . She’s hilarious 🤣
She’s too cute! Reminds me of the seniors I serve everyday…such a joy to listen too
I wish more people would call back after taking Dave's advice and doing this, giving the listeners a detailed description of the journey
Good for her. The highlight is don't look to your left and right.
We started this a couple months ago and it's so true. We have a saving goal by new years and can see it happening...cash only.
My son is taking a personal finance class and each week he needs to watch one of your videos and write about for his post. Along with him I have learned so much and have been able to make changes in my own life and am able to set him up for success.

I know what she's talking about. It's like a sense of self confidence with your finances when you gotta do cash.
Oh my word I love this lady! You must have her back!!
About 2 years ago, I gave myself this challenge. I cut up my credit card and paid off the balance but kept my account open, thinking I'd restart using credit after 30 days. Well, that 30 days turned into 6 months which turned into 1 year that I was NOT using credit cards and doing strictly debt/cash transactions. At the year mark, I called the credit card company to close my account and found it HYSTERICAL that the guy still used the "but you're going to be missing out on all the free points/cash back you could be earning" logic after I told him 3 times that I was not using the account AT ALL. Life without credit is pretty cool -- as long as I stick to the budget. 😜😜😜

In South Africa we had a mini-series called the "One Rand family" and the "One Rand Man" (Rand is the South African currency). Anywho, your entire salary would be given to you in one rand coins and you would have to physically pay for everything. The coins where kept in many containers. The participents where shocked at the amount of overspending they had previously done. Using physical cash (although not ideal) can kerb your spending
Great call! This lady rocked!

I actually started Cash Envelopes but using prop money. I thought this was a better choice for me as I do not want to keep a lot of cash around the house. To my surprise, using that Prop money really works. Although I do not give it away at the store, I have to go home and take it out of the envelope. I find I think twice about spending that money.

I was thinking the other day about how much banks have lost because of what happened to Dave. The other thing I do to control any possible overspending is turn off Overdraft Protection with my bank. It doesn’t work with automatic deductions but if I go to Walmart and try to buy something, it will decline if I don’t have the money to cover it. I would rather deal with the slight embarrassment of a decline in public then the bank hitting me with multiple overdraft fees

What's really funny, is that on the side here, suggested viewing is a piece by CNBC "Why you should use credit cards for everything." HAHAHA. I'm going to watch that next and see what the angle is.
Literally been trying this aswell not using my card that often but using the cash I do have laying around and trust me I've spent little to non this past month
This was so inspiring I’m going to do this challenge
She’s amazing!
I use a credit card for security reasons (gas, internet, places I can’t see my debit card 100% of times ) not points, I was victim of debit card fraud once, that’s all it took. My monthly cc is accounted for before I get the bill because like a debit or check the charge is deducted from the account ( in my ledger)when it’s made. Never made a lot of money but I own a home with no mortgage, two cars less than 2 years old with no payment, retired with income far exceeding my expenses. A credit card hasn’t been the gloom and doom end of my life, I know what I need and what I can spend no matter how I choose to pay for it, it’s called being an adult.

This is my only debate with credit vs debit. My credit union has been awful handling fraudulent charges.
I take out cash for spending, groceries, variable spending because those categories I struggle with when I use a card. I get satisfaction getting change back. I have a savings for anytime I receive any $5 or $1’s I automatically save the change and will count it next year to see how much I’ve saved and put it towards a goal.
I feel the opposite using cash I always spend more
Finally decided to cancel my American Express card. Have 1700 left,on it will pay that off within a couple weeks. The only Debt I would have left is my car payment rich unfortunately I got into prior to listening today but that would be my last non-cash payment. Which I am aiming to pay within two years I want to make two payments per month to speed. Glad I learned this at 26
So we bought vehicle cash. Budget for 42k max but as we looked that number felt high and the closer we got to buying the lower that price we wanted to spend. And I thought if we would of financed we would of easily bought a 50k 60k vehicle. We ended up spending 30k so in essence we saved 30k spending cash on something that loses us money
