She could document building a custom tiny house, learning self defense, safety precautions when she travels, shopping for and having a vehicle converted to meet her needs. Documenting her life, going away for college and dorm life would help her see what living away from her parents would feel like. She's a beautiful young lady, she could do hair and make up tutorials, clothing hauls and try ons, cooking segments, travel destinations...like really show others who may have physical limitations how to have full lives. I really do feel bad for Shauna, but I didn't move out until I was 22 and I remember my parents always asking me where I was going when I left if they were home. My dad didn't really care, he mostly wanted to know if we'd be home for dinner or not. But I remember in college, I would go to class, then straight to work, then I'd go to my boyfriend's house and I'd often sleep there. My mom used to get really worried when I wasn't home by like 11pm and she'd text me like "where are you?" I would have to text her every night I slept at my boyfriend's just so she knew I wasnt going to be home. I'm certain part of Shauna's parents' concern comes from her disability, but I think part of it is just normal parent stuff too.

I love her personality. I don’t think parents should shelter kids because it will always make them either lash out or get wild to prove themselves. When I first moved out for a time I was 20 & looked 17. Growing up in my 20’s I git mistaken a lot for being in high school or college. Now I’m 27 married & a grown women but my parents before getting married never sheltered me, not even as a teenager. I would come home late & traveled to Europe & did as I pleased because I never felt like I had to prove myself & my parents trusted me.

Shauna may be tiny, but she is clearly very articulate and intelligent, probably more than most 20-somethings year olds. She should consider taking the traditional path both 18 years olds do to start independence: going to college away from home. This way, she can start safely having some independence without her parents helicoptering, live her life, and get a degree to start a career that will allow her to truly be independent financially.
