She’s making it to be way deeper than it is it’s just the law. Every single person that looks under 40 has to be carded. It is normal at that age to be carded every single time it has nothing to do with her condition. When she is much much older she might get carded longer than some of her peers but at this stage in her life that is just a norm.

They do it to where other ppl might see it as a joke and that it's totally innocent but it's really not and there's something behind it. So I kind of see both sides of it. I wouldn't say she's ruining it for her but I don't think she's 100 percent happy for her bc I don't think any human being could be 100 percent happy for anyone family or not when they're miserable with whatever is going on in their life. A coworker said I looked so young and I asked her if it was because of my height and she said "no" I looked young in the face as well.. Ive had ppl tell me I'd never be in a relationship because no guy would like a girl that looks so young. I could go on and on with my experiences with looking young. And I was writing about her experience in the video that WAS about her ID 🤦‍♀️ why get upset when it's their job to make sure you're old enough. I've worked retail and know how that goes.

I find that bothering that she finds a problem with people carding her I know she doesn't want to be known for her disability kinda, but she has to understand she looks like a child and people are going to do their jobs. I've seen other videos and she gets very upset if people look at her as a child but in all reality if she sees the world the way everybody else does she has to understand she does look like a child in all reality. I'm so sorry she really is going through this that's very unfair to her but she also has many positives as well. I hope all works out for this young woman.

The producers don’t get involved like that the store might have gotten a heads up there will be a camera crew coming by but they don’t tell the establishments to do this and do that.

She's so fixated with looking and being treated like her age and not like a child, that it's really sad. Accept that people will card you everywhere you go and be like, "I just have a rare genetic condition. Here's my ID. No biggie..."

I feel like producers had him ask and then they just told shauna it was other customers. If you know anything about reality tv you would know most things are producers pushing for it

The reality is that she has the appearance of a prepubescent child and people outside of friends or family won't automatically know your story/background and they're not obligated to know either since a lot of impressions we have on each other is based on appearance. It's not a fault on her but it's also nothing that she can do about it but accept who she is and not let those assumptions bother her. Also sounds like there's some sort of deep trauma in there too as to why she's so defensive of her appearance

I am 28 years old and 5’9 and I still get carded. It’s actually the law in most places to card anyone who LOOKS under 40. She needs to get over herself and embrace these times that she looks young because she won’t always look young. She will always be short but she won’t always have fine thin skin. I'm thirty and get carded at a lot of places, when people ask me if I get tired I just tell them why should I? My ID says how old I am, I can't help that I look younger and can't control it. Workers need to do their job to make sure and confirm what they're paid to do and by law. It could get annoying to some people sometimes, but it does take a few seconds to check and confirm.

I mean you can't blame people for checking, no one wants a lawsuit

As a person who is 22 and constantly got carded for ordering cannabis from the same place or going into places that were for 18 year olds, I look young and like a teenager, so i completely understand her frustration, the people in the comments below telling her to just accept it are kind of ignorant. It's ignorant to assume and card a person covered in tattoos, driving a car, or minding their own business when they are of age. You may not know, but carding them during the visit is disrespectful unless it's something everybody has to do. People don't get it's not the fact that we look young, but that people are nosey, and that's really not ok to card one person and not the other. It's like, do you really think I would be here if I were a child?

We are not ignorant, we are grown adults who have already gone through that phase of our lives OR are still going through it at 40 years old. What we are saying is; Just ACCEPT that you are going to be carded for MANY, MANY more years. Especially if you are very young looking.
