you can get most cars on the market moded for small people. A lady that worked for me was only 3'11 and she had a raised seat and the floorboard was also raised with the brake and gas. the best thing is, no normal person can drive her car lol so no one ever borrowed it :P

yeah that’s weird. maybe it’s different in all states, in NJ you get told you passed, they give you a paper that is a temporary license but only for a few days until your actual license is ready. then you come pick it up and you could drive with the temp. one

@@alisha8586 I think it might be a New York thing. I drive with hand controls and they told me in the car after the test was over that I passed. I live in Missouri.

@@angelblu27834 yea maybe I was taking a guess at what it could be cause in Pennsylvania they tell you right away I thought maybe for people with disabilities they could possibly do it differently I have two sons with disabilities but there young yet only toddlers so won't know how they do there driving tests or if they can even drive at all.

CONGRATS Shauna! Good to hear that she had the air bags turned off and there should be a switch to flip so anyone else rides with her can have the bag on their side. I knew someone that had that.

@@gimenagarcia9284 Because for anyone that is under a certain height should have that switch installed. If not they take the chance of being decapitated. The only one that will be turned off would be the driver side airbag. Flip the switch and it's on for whoever else drives.

I mean I think its fun, i drive an xterra and its so big I can’t see over the hood unless i have a booster seat, i grew up needin a little boost, it is probably a different feeling for her though since she’s been infantilized for so long

I am almost 30 and I still have my learners permit, because I had to renew it due to Covid restrictions being in place at the time it expired. I pass my permit test on my first try and I’m hoping I can get my license by the end of this year or by January.

good for you! everyone at their own pace :) i got my license as soon as i turned 17, i’m 19 now and i just love driving. it’s one of the things that’s a normal occurrence for everyone else but i genuinely enjoy driving :)

My license expired while i was suspended in two states, so im 49 and have to take my permit test on monday and then a road test

I can relate. Something similar happened to me. I have to retake my driver's test exam and I have yet to pass it. No, thanks to parallel parking!

That's okay. There's nothing wrong with that. Honestly i didn't get my license till i was 19. I was NOT ready at 16 to do it lol

I had a friend who the opposite of her. He was 6’3 and due to our height difference he had to adjust my seat and steering wheel whenever he drove my truck. He had the seat all the way back and the wheel all the way up.

While I was in the Air Force, I had to take a special driving test in order to drive vehicles on the flight line. I scored 99% and asked why. I was tod I lost 1% for riding the clutch. This was in a vehicle with an AUTOMATIC transmission! I asked why and was told no one gets a perfect score on the test.

At least here in Canada we know exactly after the test

i have to take my driving test in may and i am super nervous, my parents say that i am a good driver but i am more so worried about you t he others drive

In the uk the examiner tells you straight after if you've passed or failed, if you pass the examiner will give you a pass certificate which you can temporarily use as a license until your actual license comes in the post

I am super short as well and I decided to do lessons at my school and also my test. The car had the adjustable seat and wheel but I had to bring all my cushions and wear very thick shoes to drive. Passed my first try. Have my car all decked out for me with all the extensions and cushions.

Do you have access to vocational rehabilitation or someone who can help you modify your car? Driving on cushions can be unsafe.

How tall are you, perhaps? Despite being 17 almost 18, I’m almost the same height as hers,and I’m so insecure about it, I hate it. I’m thinking of getting a height surgery once I’m saving enough money.

I kinda feel for shaunas sisters, like would they get a cake for passing a test? The Halloween episode did their parents really put that much thought or effort into what they (the sisters) were going to be, did the parents get/rent them (the sisters) a car?

I am honestly curious to know if it's easier or harder to drive with hand controls than with pedals

It depends on the person. I personally have issues with hand controls. I use pedals. I work as a mechanic, and had to drive a minivan that just had hand controls and using my feet was out of the question. I had major issues getting this thing in to the shop.

I have short and super nervous about driving

Martin, a close friend of mine, he's gone now, he also was a little person. He drove a BIG truck; and he had somebody weld extensions on the brake and the gas pedals. So when he got in and drove it, it was just like driving a regular car. Why don't you do something like that? RIP Martin.

The suicide knob and hand throttle combo is so much more difficult to learn than standard driving. You don't get the finesse and throttle control like you do with your foot, it's a lot harder trying to gradually accelerate with pushing your arm down

Actually that’s incorrect. We have twice the amount of sensitivity in our hands then our feet. If someone learns hand throttle from the beginning then its like learning anything else. You can also gage your “finesse” with the palm of your hand which is a lot easier then your foot. Would you push the throttle on a boat with your hands or feet? Hands. Cousin has done it all his life and says the only thing he likes is the extended push pad for braking on long road trips.
