The most important thing on a tshirt is the material, no matter if its airism or supima.. what you need you look for is 100 % cotton, no polyester - it will make you hot) and linen if possible ( although I find it kind of hard to find linen in tshirts these days)..that will keep you the coolest in summer.

@@victornewman508 well, in the case of airism, it actually makes you feel cooler while having a blend of cotton and polyester. I know 100% natural fibers is the way to go but their airism stuff is actually quite nice.

Im going to check out the Joe McCoy shirt. The best I’ve found is the Studio D’artisan loopwheel if you can swing the price ($~100). My go to shirt though is Barns Outfitters. Excellent loopwheel at a great price if you proxy from Japan ($40). Thick, great collar, shorter cut. I highly recommend checking them out.

If you proxy with something like buyee, you can buy barns from squeeze coconuts on Rakuten to get the Japanese price. You can also order from barns direct but make sure to buy from the Japanese site not the international since they put a hefty markup on the tees. Also if you see “rice cotton” it means American cotton. 🙂 Also avoid warehouse tees, the necks shrink a lot over time and they end up pretty uncomfortable.

Heartily agree on the Toys T, I have the pocket in olive. The neck was a great and good surprise for me, both in how robust it is and how snugly it fits my chicken neck. Another brand that impresses me is Warehouse - not quite as tight in the neck but a vast improvement over most, plus the cloth is slubby heaven.

Have you tried BAMBOO (or BAM) T-shirts at all? I bought a few over the past couple of years because I like their colours, and have found their Origin Luxe ones really hold up despite I wear them constantly. They barely need an iron after a wash, they fit me great, they're comfortable and feel strudy without being heavy. I also have some of their Air range because they're cheaper and often in different colours, but those are thinner as the name implies and they've seen a lot more wear. The Luxe ones just seem to have everything going for them, I just wish they'd stock more colours like with the Air ones.

Wow that CDG t-shirt is shocking, agree it definitely seems as though they're just trying to make money off of their name. Might have to give the velva sheen a look! I have a couple of Muji t-shirts that I think actually came from the undergarment section - but it's one of the only t-shirts that fit nice on my skinny arms, and it's actually a cropped fit landing just at my belt line. I don't tend to wear it during summer though as I prefer a looser fit to keep me cool

Funny - I guess we all look for different things. I wear a religious undergarment kind of like a white vest (Tzitzit), so I like a white T to be thicker so you can’t see through.

That uniqlo airism t-shirt is way too overhyped and plastic feeling. It may wick sweat, but its not breathable at all like all synthetic fabrics. I'm now wearing natural fibers (100% cotton, etc) clothing and will no longer buy any synthetic fabrics.
