I'm a small channel. It bumped my subs, but they act like ghosts, they don't comment, they don't like. I only chose to promote in in western Europe and the US, so no possibility of fake views. The two videos I promoted, both flat-lined after the promotions ended. While it was exciting to see the views and subs going up fast, I wish I could get back to where I was before, and get my money back.

​@@MotionPictureTrips Sorry to hear! Did you consider trying on Worldwide so that you could get lots of cheap views and subscribers? But in all honesty, I did stop my promotions after the $500 spent and probably won't reactive (still thinking about this though)

I haven't, but I read/seen vids that mention bad things about trying to reach all countries. Specially if you promote to places like India, China etc. Most channels who've tried this say their vids didn't get many watched hours at all. Not sure what to think, but YT should be more transparent with this whole thing. @@WesGPT

I gotta question i used promotion beta when i started my channel and i stopped the promotion and have been having good engagement can i still monetize??

So how do you decide which video to promote ... we have around 40 videos now , do I choose the best video ( most views) or a video that was one that was poorly received but we felt it should have done better?

I appreciate your video. My channel had a respectable amount of viewers and subscribers in the past. However, when I promoted a single video on You Tube, the channel completely stopped moving (it was shadow banned), which meant that the number of subscribers and views had completely decreased. Any suggestions on how I might return it to normal?

Sorry to hear this happened to you! I'd recommend stopping KZread promotions and just focus hard on organic in the coming weeks. Make as many videos as possible this month, on a similar channel topic, to get back on track.

I originally spent almost $1000. It did NOT help with growing my channel. Would actually say it hurt it. My channel blew up once I started making daily content (and you should too 😊)

Hello, can someone tell me if subscribers count for monetization? It was once written there that subscribers who were added through advertising don't count. I still need 391 and don't want to be turned away from monetization.

As of my last checking, subscriber counts from promotions DO count towards monetization but the watch hours DON'T

I did a test run on one of my videos for a promotion. I spent $80 for a ten day run. So far on day two 250 subs and about 300 views. My question is, these subs that were acquired for the promotion, will they return for content? It's hard to say. I don't see how this can hurt your channel. If anything you will get some kind of exposure. Cheers and new sub here.

My experience is that these subs WILL NOT return for future content, which makes KZread promotions a waste of money. However, I haven't tried this in a few months now so maybe it has changed?

It's all done through the Promotions (Beta) tab in KZread. It's silly, but you can't see your ads in the actual Adsense account (it's only used for billing details)

@@WesGPT on the initial attempt which was just one video I had a five day run for $100, targeting their default countries. Now I added about fifty countries, five videos, and 25-50 dollars per video total but I kept the default window so like Dec 3rd - Dec 16. They’re all approved but zero impressions so far (it’s been 4-5 hours)

It has taken 48-72 hours sometimes for my videos to start getting impressions - so it might just be in the "reviewal" stage still (even though it says active) A few times, it didn't show any impressions for 2-3 days, and then thousands of impressions in a few minutes lol

Should we give it to Gogle or the studio?

But do the subscribe and views count for monetization?

ok, I am a new subscriber to your channel. I think I came on Monday or Tuesday of your channel. Here's my theory. I watched 1-2 videos that were from an ad perspective, but after watching a couple of your promo-d things, you were in my feed a lot. I subbed after watching one of the non-promo'd videos. Great tip on targeting everywhere with English language. When I tried it, I only did US, UK, and Australia. Can you share your tips for posting to reddit without getting flagged as spam?

Hmm, I haven't advertised in a long time now! Are you sure you watched an ad for one of my most recent videos? I found that the views and subscribers I got from promotions, were actually HURTING my channel in the long run - because those subscribers were giving empty future impressions which hurt video performance. As for posting to Reddit - I actually built a bot that did this automatically. I'll make a video about it soon :)

I paid for KZread Promotions for a certain video I have and it resulted in over 20 new subs. But strangely, the video has only 3 Likes. In addition, I'm only able to see a small percentage of the new subs as it seems many of the accounts have chosen to keep their identity a secret. This leads me to conclude many of these new subs are fake accounts. Anyone have any thoughts? Is it typical for people to sub to a channel because they liked a certain video, but not actually Like the video?

from my experience doing all countries does not give the best results, do like united states, India, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan this gave me the most views idk, you can experiment I believe the problem with selecting all countries is that the money you will earn per view will decrease with lower GDP countries.

So technically, selecting all countries should always give you the cheapest views and subscribers (because the ads algorithm tries to optimize). Your selection might not give you the most number of views because there could be a country, like Bangladesh, that will give you more for a cheaper price. But you're right about earning a low $$$ per view when monetized. The point of my experiment was to see if I could get older vides higher in the search rankings because of a now-larger channel authority (more subscribers). So I tried to get the cheapest views and subscribers possible :)

I did add a few countries like Pakistan, indonesia, India. I added Egypt and Iceland. Got some pretty good results.
