*Thumbnail Designer over heya with 4 years of desiging experience.* This approach is good for ppl who don't have any designers skills or knowledge (read it as casuals of yt content creating), its good time saver, but the thumbnail that you said is much better than the orginal was wrong statemant. You look on a thumbnail by it's looks, and this is not how youtube thumbnails actually works. The thumbnail that you were excited about is less poppable, which means it will catch less eyes I won't go into details cause I could talk for years about it, but the key is always simplicity and less bloated scene and composition and obviously you can make really great visually looking thumbnails and make them incredibly effective when it comes to pop up. When it comes to the orginal there's lacking CC work and many more to pop up the face even more and focus the eye on the credit card, but overall it's much more "catchable" the user eyes than the dalle one. Alot of content creators or youtube aspiring ones doesnt understand it at all cause they think that thumbnail has to be visually beautiful or sum shit, which is totally wrong. Using glows or some effects like this make the thumbnaill less poppable and clear to the user, which on smaller resultions makes it blurred and the more something is blurred the more its fading away of the user eyes. The blue glowing arrow behind the character is good accent, but bad thumbnail part. Its much better to make the arrow without the glow cuz arrows are supposed to put the focus on main keys, if its background element it still should be plain color to keep the main focus in the centre since theres a character infront of it, and by putting blur behind you basically decreasing the popup of the face. I do really have deep knowledge about thumbnails and overall designing and popping up and this is one of the reasons why thumbnails cost alot of money, the standard price starts from around 80$-600$ it also depends on the style, but by the modern youtube standards you need alot of photo-manipulation knowledge, which involves increadibly wide range of skills and knowledge. GL with your youtube tho and I found this video by accident since I'm interested in searching thumbnails related content to check their's quality :)

Thanks for taking the time to write that comment and share your opinion! From my experience, KZread thumbnails are not as important as they used to be (I have a video coming out around midnight that explores this thought) because of how powerful the KZread algorithm is. It can find the best viewers for your video way better than it could in say 2020. Are thumbnails still important? Yes. But only by a few percent (CTR %). The point of this video was to show that you can now use AI to generate similar thumbnails to the ones that perform the best. But still, a human-created thumbnail will always be better than AI. For small channels without a big art budget, I 100% recommend just using AI to create your thumbnails and then spend most of your time on content creation. ​@@WesGPT Also additional point is that AI wont ever understand the context of human to human so well as we do between each others. I don't really think I will ever be able to experience really close results in my entire life, but I think it's all about the data and specific models, but it's not gonna happen in next 5 years for sure and there's still alot of artistic creations that won't ever be replaced that well. I'm not gonna lie the AI is incredibly helpfull and can speed up alot of our daily basis work especially when it comes to internet/pc based things. I would use more AI to give some titles for the videos based on the content of image and small description, but in both cases it does incredibly well job. Fun fact alot of fiverr thumbnail designers are using AI for thumbnails and im talking about the lazy mostly hindi ones, they have like sometimes 20+ in que and they still delivery it and they charge 5$ per thumbnail and for aspiring content creators the ai thumbnails are amazing enough and I'm not gonna lie that for 5$ dollars any thumbnail designer will make you thumbnail like this for such a funny amount of money. I also agree with that part about focusing on the content creating I still think those thumbnails generated by AI are better than most of yt ones that are popping out on my home page or anywhere else. No need tho, I'm mainly Frontend Developer with huge knowledge about UX/UI and also as my additional skillset its modern graphic design including photo-manipulation I also have deep knowledge in this category. I'm really visually based person I have great eyes for small details and I'm some sort of pixel-perfect person, so my two specializations are really working well together cause it includes visual aspects. I'm working for one youtube channel in my country, for 10 months so far we stay on 100 per thumbnail, it's not that bad, but those thumbnails are mostly simple and don't require that much of work, so I don't really feel that bad about taking 100 per one also this was offer from the owners of that channel I could raise it, but its more like my passion than main income, but fun fact the CTR jumped by ~3% after first video with my thumbnail, but ye youtube did implement alot of stuff into their platform that kinda decreased the effectiveness of thumbnails, but they're still the main key and reason of even looking at certain video, after is the title these two factors are the reason and after you're the final decision if the user will comeback to your channel and its the quality of the content afterwards if you will build stable userbase those thumbnails wont really matter that much as before, but still they're really important, but youre kinda right ngl.

There are two options: 1. Right click and select SAVE-AS 2. Click the download button when you open the image

So make sure you state this at the START of your prompt. Then, it usually works. Go "Aspect ratio 16:9, make me a thumbnail about..."

You'd have to use something like Canva or Photoshop to insert your face into the image. DALL-E 3's output size needs to be expanded anyways in order to fit as a KZread thumbnail.
