I sold my Himalayan... Here's why.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Just four months after buying it, I sold my Royal Enfield Himalayan. I liked the bike a lot and still do, so why sell it? I address that and what bike I got instead in this video.

I deliberately choose the Himilayan for its slow pace, saftey reasons and comfort. When i took the interceptor for a test ride almost everyone where racing with me and i too kept pushing and personally thats not how i want to travel, trying to be the fastest on the road is not the happiest way to travel, its exciting but not safe. I am ok with just having my own pace.

I do not consider the Interceptor fast. I rarely ride more than 65 mph. But I also like the Himalayan. What I DON'T like is crotch rockets, race bikes for the street. The street in NOT the place to race. If you want to race, fine. DO IT ON A TRACK.

Since last 50 years till 2010 Bullet was the fastest machine on road, that Dosen't mean it will always go on racing on road and the same applicable to interseptor Be self contended if you know and everybody knows tht you are powerful nothing to prove, that's the lions lifestyle. Im riding bullet then Himalayan then interseptor for last 38 years Just look on the other side and ignore, when someone is challenging you

Always ride at your own pace. I have a Kawasaki Z650 and I have been for only one Kawasaki group ride and will never go for another one. Those guys just rode at speeds of 200+ kph which is simply unsafe on any road much less Indian roads. So I ride with people who own much slower bikes as they ride at a pace I am comfortable with.

Interesting video thanks. I’ve sold my Himalayan after a year for similar reasons but unlike you I’ve gone for even less power with the new Classic 350. I wasn’t using the Himalayan’s off road ability at all so a more road focused bike is my ideal. I only want to bimble around the country lanes here in the north of the U.K. so the lack of power is not an issue for me. Enjoy your Interceptor, it’s an absolutely stunning bike!

I feel not safe on country lanes as 99% car drivers are ok, but 1% are idiots. When the truck is tailgating you on twisty roads on 100 km/h - it's scary. Sometimes I really need a power to escape dangerous drivers.

I’m literally in the same boat here. Being in the states, the Himalayan has to stick to more back roads with the higher highway speeds. I love the progress of building my Himalayan into a scrambler and it has plenty to ride two-up with my wife, but I’ve been eyeing the Interceptor as a more do it all for me. I’m also limited on garage space, but love the ease of maintenance on RE and the amount of things out there for them. I’m definitely a subscriber now 🤙

I smiled after watching your new bike, being a royal Enfield lover it's hard to say goodbye to a royal Enfield bike. I am feeling sad when watching your video, bt at last when I saw your new bike I smiled, it's satisfying to see a new royal Enfield in your garage

I sold my Int. 650 and I don't regret it, but I do. We moved from California to the middle of the United States. I sold three of my five motorcycles, because we couldn't bring them all. Loved that bike, but logistics won over my wants. I totally understand what you've done here. Good video. Cheers. Hope you enjoy what you've got to replace it.

I own both a BMW GSA and RE Himalayan. I have to tell you both serve a purpose, I love to take the RE in town... I'm getting ready to take it on my thousand mile adventure from Texas up into Canada and back. While the GSA would take me there, there's a certain challenge in taking a bike like the Himalayan that far on US and Canadian roads and trails.

Good for you buddy. Been through the RE Int for 3 years. Great bike. But at over 200kg & seat height of 80.3 cm, I (165 cm,66kg) gave it up...for a Triumph Tiger 850 Sport (192kg, got a low ride seat 79..0cm) and loving it. Looking forward to see your mod programme. Wish you many satisfying rides and lots of mileage. Ride safe bro...

Hello Mr.Menon, as mentioned, were you tip toe-ing it around? Did you ever find yourself in a situation where you weren't able to hold it on rough terrain or in road and dropped it? Enjoy the tiger! 🐅

Love your video and your reasons for riding. I’ve been riding for 20 plus years road and dirt. Just bought my dream bike a Yamaha T7, awesome bike, plenty of grunt, relaxed ride but it can really hustle if you want it to. Just want to mention one thing about the T7 for anyone considering…….it is tall, really tall. I’m 6 foot 1 and with the touring seat can only get the balls of my feet down, I can’t flat foot it. I really like that about it as you feel so dominant on the road and the suspension gets unfairly judged. It’s biased from factory for road riding with decent off-road capability, again I like that so I won’t be changing anything. Stay safe and enjoy 😊
