Think I’m done here. Part of this is fascination with what you’re doing and building…you created an audience based on this, then disappeared…told us you would tell us why if we signed up and paid for you’re newsletter…then came back and didn’t mention a thing…no update…no further on the house…but 6 quid a month on the occasional newsletter…also not mentioning anything. It’s basically taking the piss now

I think the majority are irritated by the radio silence when it comes to abandoning his goals, combined with the "I never abandon a goal" type of mantra he's been pushing since the start. That combined with pushing his (paid) newsletter and "you can be just like me" attitude, a lot of people think he's a bit full of it.

Chris, your content has become impossible to consume. I started watching your daily vids at the start, and I don't mind you taking a break. In fact I think a weekly upload is much better. But man, you're just saying the same thing over and over again and not really talking about the stuff that matters. These videos feel like your own form of therapy / self validation. If you read your comments you'll see a large portion of them are negative and have similar frustrations. Focus on better content. For now I'm unsubscribing but I'll check back in a few months and see how you have developed.

@@toastingbread Are you telling me we shouldn't provide criticisms when criticisms are needed? So we just let the guy repeat, repeat, repeat the same words over the same content? The guy had promise, he showed it at the start of the channel. If he listens to his audience he might be able to get back on track... if he listens to you, he will become the same old parrot.

@@prodical666 if the boy is putting in the graft to make these vids, build a house, and then edit and upload these videos then listening to his story and hearing about his newsletter is a part of how hes funding this - Just ignore it if its not something you're willing to pay for or it doesn't resonate with you. I'm also renovating a house and doing a full time job, i know how much work this all is. The fact that you say 'I don't mind you taking a break.' that's the real problem. You're not his boss, this is free content - you're an addicted consumer of his good nature and time taken to provide this content. Of course his plug for substack is annoying but if it helps him to share building work details and his ideas with the community, then its no more annoying than ads on youtube or posters in the street. Think about the worth of his content to you. I've learnt more from Chris's videos than i have other builders channels and i hope he does get some money to continue for all this. The fact that you're willing to unsubscribe but check back in a few months! Why even write that, it says you want him to continue but with less support from you! His story is part of him, i love his passive editing, comical rambling VO's, and has a good mix of mistakes, he's driven, educated and helpful. If he disappears for a month then i know its a tough graft - hes probably burnt out. The repeating his story could be for new comers to his channel and is a big part of his inspirational hype. Nothing to freedom through being his own boss. Something we probably all aspire to and why we watch his content. Easy to hate, but its a better world to live in to appreciate things.

Welcome back! But I have some frustrations: 1. The story is getting really old. I'd rather hear about the work in progress or next steps. 2. For a creator all about transparency, you disappear appear for 3 weeks (understandable for Xmas) and there's no awknowledgement of your missed deadline, what happened, New timings etc. 3. The newsletter model feels ridiculous. Signed up for the free version. Quickly unsubscribed when it was just an ad for the paid version. You're also asking the equivalent of my Amazon prime subscription for an email. People already have enough subscriptions without paying for emails. Focus on the KZread monetization. You've a loyal and growing fan base.

You can still bring the rest of us on the journey, without sounding like a broken record, and still keep some of the more niche interest stuff for paid subscribers. I wanna see Chris & his channel succeed but damn if I'll be listening to the same motivational spiel repeatedly for much longer.

Curiousity led me back to the channel and i was genuinely glad to see a new vid.. i was anticipating an update of what happened between your last vid and this vid and all i really got was a Tent and a skiing trip with the excruciatingly annoying and boring 'finance is bad' narration in the back drop ... Would've been nice to open up about why you couldn't stick to the target, where your head was at etc.. there was a lot of negative comments on the last vid which you could've addressed or taken on board as well.. maybe it's pride or something but i think you've done yourself and your viewers a disservice.... Also - you named your Vid 'I sold everything' and you didn't really get into why you did or anything... There's something a little shady going on OR I'm beginning to think you're on the spectrum... Either way mate.. all the best.. and I'll keep viewing if only to see the finalised Tiny Home but you've lost my Trust as a viewer and a subscriber (ex subscriber now). In a bit....

From listening to previous videos where he talks about his background and the advice he gives out, Chris is a textbook adult with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). It is called ADHD in children but after puberty the H goes from external behaviour to internal thought patterns. Not that there is anything wrong with that. 3% of the population has the same disposition. Hyperfocusing is one characteristic of the condition - not one that a lot of people can copy. Attention to repetitive mundane tasks is practically non existent and they need to be stimulated every 15 minutes or so - construction is a good way to make a living with ADD (constant change). Just an opinion.

@@mrwickenz589it's not rocket science. 30 days if your organised + practical knowhow would easily achieveable although the work not. If you don't have the practical knowhow you can't be as organised and can't commit your time effectively. Would give 2 months for a hard worker to do the same job.

I’ve unsubscribed from the channel sadly. At first it was an exciting concept and I thought it would be full of useful information around regulations and building how to’s but there is never any detail for someone who is looking to do this themselves. The back story is getting old, at first I thought okay he’s inspiring people to follow their goals but it’s getting repetitive and must feature in every video because you have no progress to talk about. Thanks for dragging out a new year countdown. I’ve found a better channel to watch and actually look forward to their updates!

Unsubscribing until you address the issues. Just be open and you'll regain your audience. This channel has potential.

Some people just have to find something to complain about. Not me. I stand in awe over the amount of work, the level of skill, knowledge and your phenomenal work ethic- I say, do what you love and ski your heart out!!!❤❤❤

Story is getting old. No explanations for anything. The bath we had to watch you dig for two weeks was covered over and nothing was said about it? I unsubscribed in Jan, thought I’d come back to check in. Nope .
