Thank you for putting the accent on seasons in French weather! I feel so bad when I compare to "minimalist closets" around the world but here we have a broad range of different weather we need to dress accordingly to 😊 I can't wait to see your content applied to French (/European) lifestyle which can apply to myself better than American based content ❤

Hey Juliette! You're so right we have to account for seasons and it may mean a fuller minimalist closet, my coats take up so much space but it's a must and even I'd love to have another coat so I will have to figure something out storage wise haha! I'm so glad that you're looking forward to my European content, I'm so excited too! It's all new to me right now!

Hii Arissa!! I promise I’m going to bed soon haha, I just wanted to reply to you before going to sleep! Thank you for commenting🤍 Moving across the world with a lot is definitely doable too! We shipped a few items that were irreplaceable, the only thing to consider if how long it takes! For the US to Europe, the items will come by boat and it can take 3-6 months to receive so you’re still forced to pack strategically and bring your essentials with you! And yes! I had no idea it would be that complicated, definitely a catch 22 situation but we managed to get it figured out in the end! It was all worth it! Good old French bureaucracy lol!

Wow! Great to hear from you! When we look back over the last few years (and minutes) just so much change, upheaval, tumult etc. I'm really happy to see you are still alive and kicking. And woah your son has grown so much!! Vlog would be amazing! I am wondering how Ryan is dealing with the cultural shock? I know your son will adapt pretty quickly :) You know you said you can talk about what you like and don't like... I'm interested. I think your audience knows it's not a dis when you say don't like... it's different. I'm really sorry that you have endured stuff during your transition. I'm here for you and believe your future is absolutely golden in regards to helping people understand different world views and similar world views. God, I have so many questions for you guys! I'm close to Santa Barbara so you can easily know the time (though in a few months you will be saying PS... T?? c’est quoi ça?!?!) I think you have a new/ strengthened unfair advantage... how many people are young and do international shifts like this (thinking will and nat) but it's not a thing. Also more an more people are pinched financially and do make choices as far as location. Or maybe even climate things are effecting them. I hate to admit but I'm interested in the relationship of normal people and politics (I saw the passionate riots when they said there isn't your normal retirement there). What's your plans for your son's education there? What age to kids enter school? Yikes! This is how many words you get when you are away for so long ;)

Hi Andrew! It's so nice to see you here!! I hope you're well! You're right it has been such a busy last few years, my son is getting so big! He is actually starting preschool soon, I am so excited for him to meet other little children and make new friends! I just got him his first little backpack! I can't believe how big he has gotten! Ryan will be starting french classes soon which will be a huge lift for him, he is settling in very well and is happy here, he has taken to life in Paris so well and so fast, I was seriously worried about him but he's doing great! Even though he doesn't speak french fluently he goes to a bunch of places by himself, takes the metro, shops, orders food, everything! Thank you for sharing your time zone, a fellow PSTer! I love Santa Barbara, it's one of my favorite places in California! Regarding travelling, thankfully I had a few experiences prior under my belt but I can't stress enough how difficult it is to do! I was also super impressed by Nat and Will, Nat and I talk all the time and her story is amazing too! She was actually a lot of comfort for me when I had some tough times as she could relate to a lot of my experiences. I have a lot to learn but I have definitely noticed that even though things are expensive here, daily life is easier than it was in California. I do think that the move was worth it for our future. Not having a car and the expenses that go with alone has been a huge lift! I'll share more in future videos, thanks so much for chatting! :)

Yay! Welcome back! Love this video. Would love to see your daily life. Vlog sounds fun especially how minimalist fits in the French lifestyle. It would be so unique and fun to watch how you feel about different space and different topics in various cities you have stayed. For instance. Closet space in California. Paris etc and how you use them as a minimalist. Just normal day to day life would be so interesting as well since you left Paris for a while it would be so cool to hear your perspective when rediscovering the “usual” stuff. Thank you so much!

I am so happy you are back! I moved from Brazil to Italy last year and had a very similar experience with many things, the clothes in particular haha I would always go to the airport wearing sneakers and sweatpants and I could feel people staring at me here. Another thing I miss is being able to order anything at anytime, like, a hambúrguer or even pads at 3AM, but here at 23:00 everything is closed. I went to Paris for the first time last month and I completely fell in love with the city, is the most beautiful place, I might move there someday. In Italy I have also faced similar issues, I needed an Italian address to request my Italian citizenship… but I needed a citizenship or a residency permit to have an Italian address 😅 About the type of video, the vlog idea sounds great, I would also love to see your new seasonal wardrobe and what changed on your things and routine now in a smaller space.

And yes I can relate to the restaurant hours too! I LOVE the restaurant culture in Paris but yes there definitely is a time difference to get used to! Sorry to hear about the difficulties you encountered, I'm so glad that it's behind us now, I wouldn't wish the bureaucracy on anyone! Its funny, I live in a North suburb of LA and went to Paris for the first time this past December. We stayed in an airbnb in Marais. I loved walking out the door and walking 3 doors down and getting a slice of quiche each morning. I loved getting fresh bread every afternoon. Sadly, I came down with Covid while in Paris so didn't get to do as much as I wanted. I can't wait to go back!! The REASON I picked an airbnb was because I am an ice addict. I even bring my own vintage metal ice cube tray with me so I can have big hard ice cubes. I actually brought some microbrew iced coffee with me and made my own each morning. I drink iced coffee year round and the cold weather in Paris didn't stop me. LOL.

Just came across your channel and you are living the dream of what my husband and I would love to do! As I was listening to you about Starbucks, this was the experience we had while we were there a few months ago. I drink Starbucks on a regular basis here in the US and every time we would stop in one, I was disappointed. It never tasted the same. We love our sugar over here too much. Ha! They didn't have a lot of the extras, like cold foam or certain syrups. They also didn't have that same "overly happy" attitude, but I also love the honesty of the French people, so that wasn't a bad thing, but it just threw me off the first time I walked into a Starbucks because I guess I thought that with how Starbucks is branded, it would translate throughout all countries. After visiting Europe, I totally can see how a lot of people not from the US think Americans are "fake".

Hii! Thank you so much for watching! Taking that leap to move was so scary but we’re so happy here! I laughed at your comment about Starbucks because I thought it was just me so it feels good to not be alone in this lol! I was so sad about the pink drink debacle, I didn’t mention this in the video but I actually had my husband bring me a pink drink in a hydroflask in his suitcase for me! It’s so ridiculous but it was amazing, I drank it so slowly savoring every single sip and was so sad when it was gone😂😂😂 Having experienced both the US and Europe the service is very different and I really do miss the cheerfulness of US customer service, I don’t consider it fake but more service oriented for sure!🤍

@@shesfrench I’m glad I shared, then! That’s so cute that your husband did that for you.💗 When we made it to France, we had been in London a few days prior and I was craving a burger BAD. Ha! We found a place called “Burger & Fries”. It was nothing fancy but it was the best burger and fries I had at the time. In our travels I realized just how much I truly love typical “American” food and it actually surprised me because I thought I was going to be more into all of the French food but I literally wanted Croissants, Macaroons, Pizza and Burgers. 😂 So glad I found your channel! We are hoping to return at some point for a longer visit but until then looking forward to more French content!
