LET'S TALK ABOUT EXPENSIVE SHOPPING MISTAKES * IT CLOSES BUT DOES IT FIT? * I shesfrench
Hello everybody! First things first there may be some triggers in this video as we're talking about sizes so I just wanted to let you know! 🤍 Today I wanted to talk to you guys about some costly shopping mistakes I have made and what I learned from them. Essentially I was shopping all wrong! I wanted to share this new frame of mind I adopted for myself when it comes to minimalism, shopping, having a capsule closet and curating and that is to disregard sizes altogether and focus on fit! I hope that you find this helpful or at least interesting, like always I'd love to know your thoughts!!

ugh YES, as a clothing reseller, PLEASE know your measurements, especially in bottoms (waist, hip, rise, inseam). I always list items with the waist measurement in inches but people always ask "will this fit a size 2?", but I can't answer that bc a size 2 is different everywhere. Men's sizing is actually the same everywhere because they list sizes in bottoms by the actual measurement of the pant (32" waist, 30" inseam, etc.). I also bring a measuring tape around with me when I shop, which might seem excessive, but I promise it saves you so much time/hassle. Just measure whatever pants you have rn that fit you perfectly and there's your measurement :)

Hi Kayley! Thank you for your amazing insight!! You’re so right measurements never lie and are the most valuable thing that we can get familiar with when shopping!! I don’t find the tape measure excessive at all I think it’s genius!! I love your mention of men’s sizing because I completely agree it’s so much easier to get things right that way! If only everything was displayed that way!! 🥹❤️❤️

Hey Jenna! I love this topic! I made similar mistakes like this as well, both in my weight loss journey and then coming to love my larger body after recovery. I love how to address this in a sensitive yet informative manner. Great vid, as usual J : )

Vidéo intéressante qui aidera beaucoup d’entre nous je pense. Surtout à déculpabiliser et à apprendre de nos erreurs ;) L’essentiel c’est de se sentir bien dans ses vêtements!

In an ideal world I would love to have lots of choice for chic garments and be able to try them on in store. However in my country they rarely have what I want especially when it comes to trousers. I am 183cm tall and live in New Zealand so if I want to get long pants I usually can't. Added to the height issue it can take years for current international trends to sink into the consciousness of NZ retailers. Luckily it is 2024 and there is an amazing huge luxury clothing website based in Germany that has excellent product description and photos. Over the past 8 years I have found that I can absolutely rely on the listed measurements including length of inseam and width of the thighs on the each product. I must admit though that on the very few occasions that I went to the US I thoroughly enjoyed shopping for clothes in store there!

Hii! This is going to sound so ridiculous because I am based in Paris but I have little shopping habits and brands that I love that are so niche so I prefer to shop online! Also having a good return policy is really important because I don't really follow sizing, I also go by the measurements online but even then it can be a bit off. I don't know how accessible shipping is there but some of my favorite brands are actually Australian, although i typically wait for sales to grab pieces from them! I love St Agni and Aya Muse (I believe both are Australian), it could be worth checking them out! New Zealand seems like a paradise, I would so love to visit one day!

@@shesfrench New Zealand has its good points for sure but it’s isolated. I have lived in New Zealand and London but I have found that home is where your family is ❤️

Mytheresa is my go to and ASOS tall. St Agne looks very nice but I wonder about the length of the pants

@@rosalindmason9242 I love both asos and mytheresa! I actually just recently grabbed a pair of pants from St Agni and found the length to be long enough for me, I struggle with length too but I would definitely suggest trying with a good return policy, I ordered from SSENSE and not directly from St Agni because of that to make sure that I could return if needed. I LOVE the pants though!
