I SHOT A WOLF! (Self-Filmed)
Ойын-сауық
I shot a wolf! Last season I was out deer hunting by myself looking for whitetail does. I had access to a piece of private land surrounded by public federal and state land. I had to film it on my cell-phone, since the crew let me go hunting by myself which is a rarity these days.
While glassing for does I spotted a wolf. I had been wolf hunting before but it was always the guest hunter who got to shoot. So finally I had my chance on taking a wolf for myself. I waited for him to come into range and let out a shot.

I have the Kifaru universal gun bearer on my Pintler pack. Kifaru suggested the long waist belt which I had to wrap around the Mystery Ranch waist belt twice to get the right position for my gun muzzle. I am wondering if their shorter model would have been better. One issue I would like to resolve a bit is the trigger guard rubs my pack waist belt (leaving a big black patch) and I'm concerned it might wear a hole in the belt.
I think this is one of your best videos yet! Your excitement is like a kid shooting their first deer! On a different note it would be cool to see an update of your taxidermy and maybe some of your creativity in the kitchen with wolf meat.

“Click, what do you mean click.” Had that happen with a dead primer on a Coast Range Roosevelt Bull. Decision time, leave it there and see if it cooks off or chamber another one and kill the Bull. I did option 2. If you are not a little excited at the start, you will be after the “CLICK “
I haven’t laughed so hard! That was so awesome and comical at the same time. I love the “click”! Oh shit I forgot to load a shell!
One of the great things about Randy is that he shows us that he's just as human as the rest of us.....it usually helps if you chamber a round BEFORE you try to take the shot!!!
That's awesome and I'm curious to know why you take the meat do you eat it or what's the reason behind packing the quarters and the back straps
Congrats Randy!! Such an awesome way for that to go down. Seems like my biggest accomplishments have been when nobody was around to see it. Maybe it’s better that way. It definitely feels like it to me. 🤘🏻

Randy, What do you do with the meat? I hate to kill without eating and I have a place in Yaak; starting to wolf hunt and its only a matter of time before I get one.
No round in the chamber! I love it. Reminds me of a deer hunt a few years ago .... huge coyote comes straight at me ..... Tug, tug ..... Noooooooo! Safety on! Coyote lives another day, argh & double argh !!! The only ones happier than Randy are all the deer & elk in the area.
Your reaction to the gun not being loaded lol 😂 Iv been there lol congrats on the wolf! Another great video Randy, thanks for taking us along on your adventures!

I am truly amazed at the enjoyment you get out of walking onto a pristine piece of land and "basically killing everything in sight" . . . and the "happiness and joy" you display as a result of your CONQUESTS? is evident . . . you must be soooo proud! . . . perhaps you could visit elementary schools in the area and present a program as to why it is necessary, beneficial and important, if given the chance, to kill as many wild animals as possible on a single outing and the "self-fullfillment and sense of achievement" it brings about in one's own self . . . you are amazing!!!

@W M I've been a keen observer of the wolf re-introduction project in Yellowstone National Park since it started in 1995. I knew in 2001 when the Druid Peak Pack reached 37 in number, which, at that time, was the largest single wolf pack documented in history, that their proliferation would be a problem outside the park but in the greater Yellowstone area. I wanted to watch ONE video of a person hunting a wolf . . . WHY??? . . . to see what their motivation and MINDSET was ln killing the animal . . . I think it was candidly revealed in the video . . . his response to the kill was one of GLEEFULL GIDDINESS AND TOTAL IMMATURITY . . . what a joke to put this individual on a pedestal
@garybromberger4044
3 жыл бұрын
@W MI believe a rancher has the right to kill a wolf if it is affecting his herd. Was the wolf on this PRIVATE PROPERTY affecting the livelihood of this specific property owner? Maybe it was, it wasn't clear in the video. What was very clear was the immaturity (giddiness, child-like reaction, being flustered and "choking" when the opportunity presented itself) . . . are these the traits of a PROFESSIONAL hunter??? . . . are these the same traits exhibited by professional conservation agents when they are summoned to a rancher's property to take down and remove a predator that is causing harm specifically to their herd??? . . . I don't think so
I was grinning the whole video...thanks for posting! This was great!
