My wife is now crippled due to cancer and too many surgeries. But we use to ride an aveage of 250 to 300 miles a day, everyday. We had a farm and did our chores every monring, went for a ride, came back home and did our evening chores. When we took trips we aveage between 400 to 500 miles a day. We have traveled well over 300,000 miles by motorcycle and camped out along the way. We only traveled in eight U.S. states by motorcycle, but we enjoyed every mile. We also had many motorcycles, from a Rebel 250 to 114 C.I. Harleys. (I will never own another Harley) My last one cost $37,000 and broke down four time within the first year.) Ride safe and enjoy every journey..

Hi Gene, Thanks for watching. I'm sorry to hear about your wife having cancer. God bless her. I'm happy you both got to make great memories together and shared a joy for motorcycles. That's something to cherish. I myself enjoy riding with my partner as well. What is your favorite bike that you've owned, and why do you like it?

@@ALICATMOTO The most fun bike I liked was a Hondqa VLX 600cc. My wife liked our 2002 Suzuki 1500cc Intruder best. I must admit though, I liked them all and each one has it's pluses and minuses.

As an update to my previous comment on Honda's vertical twins, I have now purchased a 1980 Honda Cm400T, the "daddy" of your Rebel, and i love it. It seems to be in excellent mechanical order. Some paint chips and surface rust but i will address that during the long Swedish winter. And remember, "you meet the nicest people on a Honda" 😊. Ride safe.

I love those Honda vertical twins. I had the old cb400n as my learner bike. My next bike was a Harley Sportster, and i miss it. But I miss my old Honda almost as much.

I am in the desert, literally. The Arizona desert. It's about 110 degrees F here, too hot for me to ride. The Rebel 250 is a very capable little bike, with one exception. I am 6' 240, and have ridden mine over 1000 miles on the freeway at full throttle many times. I have a kit from a place called blue collar bobbers that moves the pegs, shifter, and brake about 5 inches forward, that allows me to fit on it without being all scrunched up. It will run at full throttle almost forever. It's engine is designed to not be overstressed at full throttle. Honda could have gotten more power out of it, but didn't, for that reason. It's one weak spot is it's tube type tires. A flat tire means a tow truck. You can't just plug a puncture, reinflate it, and be on your way like with tubeless tires. Tube type tires are also a lot easier to puncture. I actually started out riding on a small dirt bike, at age 8, back in the late '60s. I rode off road for 8 years before getting my motorcycle license and a street bike at age 16 in 1975. So by the time I got my license to ride on the street, I had already learned how to ride. And back then, traffic was not crazy like it is now. As it slowly got worse and worse over the next few decades, I learned how to deal with it as it happened. I didn't get thrown into it all at once with no experience. I still believe the best and safest way to learn how to ride a motorcycle is off road. In the U.S. we have a scooter cannonball. It is several thousand miles. Despite having a scooter (a 2006 Vespa GT200) I am too old and have to many orthopedic issues to ride that far any more. Not complaining, I've had the opportunity to ride around a million miles during the past 46 years. Glad you guys had fun. If you haven't found it yet, check out www.hondarebelforum.com

Yes Honda is a great quality vehicle for sure; I know I'm having lots of fun on mine. I couldn't imagine how hot Arizona must be this time of year. Canadians have it easy that way, we get heat waves but overall it's usually tolerable but our winters are very harsh. I'll have to check out the forum, thanks!

😉At 3:30 on a gravel road your using all four fingers for the clutch? If your hand is big enough try three. I use three fingers for the clutch so i can grip the handle bar with thumb and forefinger, just for more control in the gravel and if a flat front tore should occur, better to have a firm grip. Luv your Bike , i have the 2015 Rubidium Red.

When you fill up on your bike try sitting on the bike standing it up and you might have a better view of the gas in the tank. Moto jitsu and dandan the fireman brings up a lot of information. Stay safe and I enjoy watching you and your boyfriend ride
