I Rode My $650 Snowmobile in the Montana Backcountry!

Спорт

I bought this 2007 SkiDoo Summit 800 for $650 back in November of 2022. It wasn't running and I figured it would be fun to tackle a new project. I had never owned or worked on a snowmobile before, so I had no idea what I was getting myself into. A few months later after many hours of hard work, internet research, and patience, she lives once again! In this video I ride the sled for the first time!
Millennium Technologies replated the cylinders for this snowmobile, making it possible for her to come back to life. For your cylinder needs from repair to modification, get in touch with Millennium!

I like to tell people wrong foot forward. If you're side hilling the left side you put your right foot on the running board and dangle your left foot off the side for counter balance

So I worked on one similar to yours for a guy that had a little spring broken above the slide in one of the carbs. It let the slide drop too far down. Also they are known to have carb boots that crack and leak. The slides in the carb wear out too. One thing to watch for with sleds is they can still run with one cylinder lean, and that’s obviously no good. My dads old buddies had 3 cylinder sleds in the 90s that had exhaust temp gauges for each cylinder to make sure ones not burning up.

Always get rid of old fuel, put in fresh after it's been sitting for extended period of time. Welcome to the sledder community!

Those things are infamous for doing that and the cause is usually the saftey plug teather dealio. It has a computer chip or something in it. Try wiggling it around next time it goes gutless on you

Not the eight throttle response is because it is not clutched for the mountains

Sled was running crapy maybe because of the high altitude and it’s not adjusted for that
