Places like this prove that quality food at sensible prices is not impossible. Try ordering something like that in one of Ramsay's restaurants, and you'll be lucky to see change from a hundred quid. That was enough for four people. I'm going to knock off a point for being next to a busy main road, but otherwise I can't really fault it for what it is. 9/10

Amazing! As I said before (I think) that privately owned businesses are the ones to support. The size of everything you ordered was astonishing. It made me laugh. What an experience! Especially after the recent Rick Stein at Padstow experience. I'm glad that you survived that one, by the way. A superb pastie is very satisfying. The innuendos and smuttiness I could come up with....but I'll behave! Everything here looked delicious! And the size of each portion was ridiculously large. And even more ridiculous were the prices for what you got. This was value for money on an epic scale! And again, this is a local independent place producing high quality, value for money food. For me, this is a 10/10.

An amazing place…Based on my one and only time visiting!!! This is not a reflection on their ethos, products or business…just…I don’t get that far into the West Country, that often!!! It was a LUSH place, though, crazy busy (to the point where we thought we’d bail…but…glad we didn’t!!!) The whole Crew were just so damn good!!! When the food came out, which wasn’t long, it was proper, belly filling, no messing goodness!!! The other Patrons were Great, too…It had a real laid back vibe about the place. Can’t wait to go back👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 Oh! And for Pasties that will make your Heart Sing, then there’s only one place to go; Philps in Hayle (they do have other places but this is the Mothership). Thanks for the great video, as always, and look forward to your further adventures!

Good to see Gary getting in touch with his inner Sid James! Best pastie I've had was in Bude, can't remember who made it and wish I could source it again, but was seemingly of unique design. The crimping was actually hollow and filled with the beef and the centre of the pastie proper just contained the seasoned swede, potatoes etc. Delicious.

Cornwall has so much to offer, in many ways. My best mate lives in Truro - and I've been down there so many times now. Seafood and pasties are the go-to fare. Nicely done, Gary!

It was good to see a smile on your face again. Enjoying some quality food, even if it was at a noisy take-away Cafe. That you went back for more food after those baps and pastie, shows your perseverance in wanting to give us a low down on thsi amazing place. Well done Gary. The best bit was, there wasn't a chip/frie in the place. The cameraman must have ecstatic that he got to dive into those wonderful baps, but then you let us down slowly by saying that the cameraman dug into this pocket and paid for some of it.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Being a burger freak that looked way up my street!!! Brilliant price too, especially as it would have been two meals for me considering the size. Southern fried chicken bap also looked amazing as did the pasty. Such a difference in price and quality to Rick Stein’s - say no more! Not a hotdog fan but would definitely ‘give it a go’ as it was a sausage rather than a hot dog. Seems like outstanding value and let’s hope they continue to flourish. We need more properly priced and decent quality restaurants like this in England. Well done ‘Nice Baps’ and well done, Gary - lovely review. As per usual. Keep up with the good work!
