I Replaced My FAVORITE Rebel 1100 Exhaust… With THIS?!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
After almost 2 years with my FAVORITE Rebel 1100 exhaust, my Two Brothers Racing Comp-S Slip-On, it's time to move on to something different, and hopefully EVEN BETTER! The only thing is, the exhaust that I'm replacing my TBR with isn't exactly what I'd have called the best exhaust for the Honda Rebel 1100 if you'd have asked me a few months ago...in fact, I've even said before that I'm NOT a fan of this muffler...
BUT times change, and I'm confident now that my new Coffman's Thunder exhaust is the BEST exhaust option for my Rebel 1100! I'm SO STOKED on my upgrade and can't wait for all the benefits of having the Thunder on my bike now!

NINA WHEN ARE YOU POSTING NEXT !!!
Having just bought my 1100 DCT, I'm really looking forward to see what options you explore for saddlebags. My friend has sent me to your channel a ton of times and I finally pulled the trigger this weekend on a GORGEOUS burgandy 1100 DCT over the weekend. Since then, I've been exploring your videos for information and the number one thing I want is saddlebags!
I have the Coffman shorty exhaust on my 2018 Rebel 500 and it sounds good with the baffle in. As you ease off the throttle it burps and makes other cool noises. Their customer service is excellent as I had talked to Mrs. Coffman while ordering. The shorty leaves you plenty of room for larger bags. Good choice you made!
Just want to say thank you so much for all the information. I just put one on mine . 2023 / 1100T And I love it I get a lot of compliments
Just put mine on today. Left the baffle in and holy shit this pipe is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. A good base full sound that isn’t overly obnoxious while riding. And damn it looks so good! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Another great video! Exactly the exhaust I'm looking for. Looks like it would clear swingarm bags too
I will say with the baffle sounded PERFECT to me! I would have preferred the look and sound overall of that Koffman w/ baffle. I hope they do the etching option publicly (even if it's an additional charge) so I can get my emblem etched in too!
I put on my Coffman exhaust a couple weeks ago. Love it! Also, I have to rave about their customer service and the fact that (for me) they are a local small business.
Dude I don’t own a motorcycle and watched this whole video because of how well it is done. Pretty refreshing commentary 👍 this is how all review videos should be done.
I truly hope they make this for the 500! Great video, ride safe.
Congrats on the Coffman's Thunder! I think you'll really enjoy the product... the construction and customer support can't be matched! I was grateful to actually meet Wyatt Coffman and visit their facility in Ukiah, CA during on my return trip following the 2021 Scooter Cannonball Run. They make everything in-house, so they have fantastic quailty control and the ability to rapidly make changes according to customer feedback. Wyatt is great to work with for custom projects and he's eager to try new solutions with his customers. The ability to carry larger, symmetric panniers is fantastic for touring. If you and Nina are riding separate bikes on your trips, then you might look at something like the DrySpec D38 dry bag to strap across your back seat. That's the setup that I use on my Rebel for touring... plenty of space for all my touring and camping gear. BTW... how did you get back and forth from those private test roads in Mexico for your high-speed runs? 🤣👍 --QM

That’s awesome that you were able to see their facility! I’m sure that was super neat to check out. You can tell Wyatt and everyone over there love what they do and stand behind their work! As for the trip to Mexico…let’s just say it was an arduous journey, but sometimes that’s what it takes to get the people the content they deserve!! 😂🤘🏻

@@LifeOfBurch Hey you seem to have to done alot of changes to your bike. I was wondering if you know the center to center spacing between the handlebar clamps. I am trying to put single piece risers on my bike and most manufacturers make risers for harleys and indians which work with 3.5 spacing between the handlebar clamp bolts center to center. I fucking hate the rox riser pivoting risers. Cant find a good handlebar for this bike either as the bars are 1" that taper to a 7/8 and the bar has to have tbw inserts in it. I am 5:10 as well but the reach is getting uncomfortable for me.
@LifeOfBurch
Жыл бұрын
@@gsin311 I’m not sure of the spacing, but another thing to consider is you’ll have to drill out the triple tree. The bolts for the Rebel risers are 12mm and Harleys are 1/2”. I’ve looked into doing it too and pretty much any good option you’d need to drill out the triple tree, which I just don’t know if I’m ready to do 😅

Do you feel that the riding position is good enough for you. I am good for about 30 minutes or so. After that its not comfortable anymore.
I need a closer up of your engraved logo!! Smart move blacking out the speedometer and causes me less stress 😂 Love you 2!
Love the flashback to the burnout, you can see the Velcro flap flickering in the heat and those Crocs 😂👀💸. That was some classic shi#
I love my Coffman's Thunder. Super high quality and sounds nice. The custom engraving is awesome!! Since you have the passenger seat, you will need a 3/4" spacer to mount the exhaust. I have some extras if they didn't include one.
I was looking at getting a coffman thunder for my Rebel 1100 already, but seeing the new logo design on yours has sealed it for me. Definitely gonna get one now.
It sounds soooooo good. I just can’t wrap my head around the size. I’m a lover of big pipes. (Not the stock suitcase) think scout bobber. Love that they personalised if for you
Great vids. On your previous review of the 1100T, you noted how difficult it may be to upgrade the exhaust because of the bags. Looks like a great solution right here. My wife is looking for a lighter bagger. She is tired of 'pushing' around her Vaquero 1700. The 1100T may be the solution, but she does not enjoy the refrigerator exhaust sound, out of the box.
I put the Coffman on my CTX700N, but went back to OEM. Preferred the quieter exhaust and did the high temp black to match all other black parts!
Not bad. Looks like it works well. Nice video Mike.
transition looked great, dude :)
I can see the plus sides of the Coffman especially with you wanting to do bigger bags. I'm still leaning towards the TBR for overall sound and looks personally. I don't plan to do bigger bags though either. Always good content man!

Can’t go wrong with either of em! Especially if you don’t need bags, the TBR will sound way gnarlier for ya 🤘🏻 Thanks for watching and commenting brotha!!
Sounds amazing. even with the baffle. That will be very nice on a longer trip. The loudest stage will be too loud when travelling.
Burch awesome video 🎉love unboxing vids and you hit this one 😤⚡️⚡️🤟👆👊🙆
I've had a Coffmans Thunder on mine for like 6 months now... its great.... smaller and lighter and doesn't mess with saddle bags.
I love that exhaust and it works well with my bags!
I've had a Coffman shorty for almost a year. Love the sound and how convenient it is on the bike.

I enjoy your videos and have gotten a lot of good info from you, including the one that lead me to buy a Rebel over other options. I'm leaning very heavily towards putting the Coffman Thunder exhaust on my 1100. I'm not too saavy when it comes to tuning, etc. Does running it without the baffle cause any issues? I've read some forums where they say the motor runs better with a bit of back pressure, but man, oh man, do I want that louder growl.
I've noticed Coffman gaining more and more popularity over the past year or so. Probably has to do with the fact they don't rake you over the coals for the price of it, compared to other shorty exhausts. It helps they sound good, with or without the baffle.
@LifeOfBurch

Agreed!! I forgot to mention price in the video, but the Coffman’s Thunder is $400 including the baffle, and the TBR is over $600 once you add the optional baffle! 😳😳😳

Looking at getting my first larger bike. would you recommend the rebel 1100 or the indian scout? do you have a video comparing the two? Love your content, keep up the great work
Bike looks awesome! would you say you lost power without the baffle?
Looks good but I love my 2BR exhaust. I put heat tape on the bottom of my bags. Works great.
The Coffmans exhaust is a winner. I would keep the baffle in, but it did sound good without it. Any bike I buy has gotta have storage, and with the straight design allowing for larger bags, it's a no brainer to use it....
Sounds good!!!
I still like the two brothers racing exaust the best. I guess what it comes down to is preference. The Coffman exaust is really nice as well.
Sounds perfect
Sweet I'm def getting one
Sounds great
Nice ! But when is the Navi drag race ?
The pitch sort of reminds me of a Ducati actually. So I can see what you mean by more refined. If there was a slider bar, Coffmans is towards the Ducati end while TBR is more towards the Harley end.
I put a Coffman on my ctx700dct it sounded amazing.
What saddle bags are you going to get ? I have the upswept TBR with the thrashing bags but would like more space.
I think it looks better with the new exhaust, Burch-dude! I'm curious, tho -- if they made a dual-pipe exhaust like some bikes have, it'd probably fill out the space and still not hinder saddlebag options. What's your view on dat? Sick vid, criminal-Burch-dude. And Non-Criminal Burch-dude. :P

@@LifeOfBurch Absolutely beautiful, and extremely well made from what we can see in the video! I should (finally) be getting my 1100 this year. Don't think I can get these exhausts here in Australia that easily though. Found a supplier than does V&H but not much else. Here's hoping though, because I really want some sort of bags on mine as I plan to use it for work commutes. 🤞
Coffman exhaust looks cleaner NGL i like how it flows with the bike more.
Thought I'd get a 500 or 1100 next but nobody wanted to give me a shot at a bigger bike, not like Harley wanted to at least. Came out of the dealership with a 2016 Iron 883 with a dent and a few scratches but let's be real, 6140 for a bike that runs perfectly is a steal.

@@LifeOfBurch word i had saddle bags that looked just like that (bag to bike size ratio) and it just cracks me up seeing bags that small on a cruiser haha. Leaves pleanty of room for the passenger tho! some can get in the way
Can this be used on the 1100 DCT? Will I get the same sound? Also, what bags did you end up putting on after switching to this new exhaust? Thanks!!
Do you get any crackles and pops with the baffle in?
Do you know if it would have been possible to have the Honda logo engraved?
Does this still snap crackle and pop as much as the two brothers? How about with the baffle in?
I don't know why, but I feel like a 4 inch riser and drag-bar combo with a higher windscreen would look pretty badass.

Why not get the low mount tbr exhaust ? That way you can get saddle bags still.
What about air fuel ratio…tuning?
Is it way louder than the stock exhaust???
do you need to tune the bike if you remove the baffler?

Will this work with the hard bags on the 1100T "deluxe" version? It looks like it, but can't be sure. I'm debating on which model to get, but coming from a Harley street glide I like the looks of the T with 300 fewer lbs.

It should work fine I'd guess, just from the placement and size... I have some Viking saddlebags that are a bit larger on mine (had to fabricate my own mounts since they don't make it for the 1100) and they work great with my Coffman's Thunder.
Can I get the tbr I’ve been wanting to try it out
Now we need a the Coffmans with out the baffle VS the Shorty GP.....I was sold on the Shorty GP....But now....
I wanna see it on the 1100T
i think it sounds better with the baffle has a more refine sound
Will this work on the 500?
I'd run it with the baffle. It sounds great and I think your passenger will appreciate the less noise when riding with you..
@LifeOfBurch
Жыл бұрын
Even without the baffle it’s surprisingly MUCH quieter than the TBR when cruising at speed, and then gets loud and throaty once you punch the throttle. My passenger never had an issue with the TBR’s sound level in the first place though, even on multi-hour trips.

For once, Burch is doing an upgrade after me! MUAHAHAHA!!! I see QuasiMotard was already on top if it with his comment. Big thanks to him for his great video on this product as well! I hope you love the thunder. I haven't even bothered to remove the baffle yet since I think it sounds great as-is. I'm planning to get the SW Motec Legend bags, as soon as I can pool together the >$1000 for 55L of storage, and I expect it to fit with this exhaust. It's also way easier to lift the rear fork now without the original suitcase exhaust. Mine has browned up a little bit after seeing some inevitable rain on an 1100 mile trip, but I expect it will clean up with some soap and water. Now for me to get the same shocks, foot pegs, fender eliminator, and windshield as Burch... budget permitting :P
