You can poison trees in Factorio too -- if the pollution in their chunk is above 60, they have a chance once per second of absorbing 10 additional pollution, but this may cause them to lose leaves, reducing their usual absorption rate. Strangely enough, they can stop absorbing pollution entirely this way, whereas every ten trees that are dead to begin with will always absorb as much as one live tree that hasn't lost any leaves.

I think the next character they add should be the Peglin Chef he would start on floor two and have the cake relic. He would also start with eggs instead of stones, and have a Cleavorb.

ring of reuse is actually really good for stacking poison so seeing him take puppet over it hurt me lol

I feel like a better way to "collect" new classes would be to have them appear as special, rare map spaces. If you land on this space, you may have some burden or task to carry out throughout the run in order to unlock the character. Say, for example, that you land on a space and have the option to carry the balladin character to safety. This could entail your orbs becoming dense for the rest of the run, random pegs being fortified, and slightly reduced attack damage. Feels like a fun way to integrate new challenges & make unlocking new content less obscure

This actually sounds like something people like Tyler would loathe to no end. The criteria for unlocking something being pure luck and RNG with very little skill, or even the fact that your skill is gatekept by random chance sounds infuriating. Imagine going 200 runs and not getting the space with no fault of your own, so you have to mindlessly grind games just to find it.

@@Amodh1257 I mean, is it that different from what's happening here? In order to unlock characters you'll need pure luck and RNG to get the orbs needed. There's no failure in skill to have the game never give you any poisoning orbs.

@@Amodh1257 I'm saying that complaining about an idea for a mechanic that relies on RNG to give you characters when the system in place *already has RNG* is a bit hypocritical. Besides, Peglin's a roguelike, half of the gameplay is dealing with irritating RNG.

Finally, the editor confirms I'm not crazy for thinking Tyler says plague weirdly!

50 ballution is damn hard, it took me a lot of try to get it. The wall boss is pretty much the way i got, and like 3 ballution and that one orb that doubles the ballution

I recently had an amazing broccoli run. No crits, duplication potion, reorbanizer, and then a cast of base 16/32 orbelisks. I ended up losing to the final dragon boss because infernal ingot wouldn’t work for whatever reason, but it was fun nonetheless

worst part about the unlocking classes style is that it makes you do things like not buy the training weight in the first shop

I do think a Pegbarian character that does 0 crits but increasing muscircle is a valud option to get

Ballution is amazing in the new update! The orb that doubles ballution and overwhammer/ice rod makes it very good

I think a way to make getting the achievement easier to get is a new cruciball level that halves the strength of stat buffs/debuffs (i.e, it takes 2 ballwark to block 1 damage, 2 muscircle to get a +1/0, ballution does 5 damage per stack, etc) which is an interesting challenge by itself, but also makes getting achievement a little easier since enemies won't die from poison as quickly.

The editing has been amazing lately. The 😬 edit got me good

I agree that new classes shouldn't be unlocked by basically already mastering the class. That said, you need to commit from the first few purchases to achieving 50 Ballution. What I found was, that it all hinges on getting the orb with the repeating name.

I think to solve the random class problem, giving certain orbs a class is a good idea, because you can do a couple things to make those classes more cohesive. 1) Give you the option to pick a class from the start. Though you get every orb regardless. 2) That class can recieve buffs depending on how many class orbs you have. Maybe an effect that occurs periodically once you have a certain number of orbs. For instance, a healer class could boost healing by a certain amount, collect more orbs and you get passive healing per hit or orb thrown, or more healing when lower on health. A fighter class could boost damage, collect more orbs and you deal more damage the more you take. 3) Create a relic that tilts the odds of which class orbs you get. This dilutes the amount of relics there would be in the game, but you are rewarded for investing into a class. This way, you can play towards a certain class, and occasionally pick and choose certain orbs from other classes. This creates enough difficulty to perhaps add more levels to the game.

I found ballution's sting to be one of the best orbs for poisoning the wall. Really you need it and there orb that doubles poison (I think it's the douball douball)

I really love the editor. Editors make or break channels, this one makes it.

i just got the cake today; i got the poison like yesterday or something and i personally thought it was super fun; havent got the ballwark guy though i like the idea of the main peglin guy being the sort of "omni peglin' guy; it makes a lot of sense with their starting relic giving more choice personally; i wish the guy you unlock from the poison achievement was... more interesting; i think theyre super underwhelming i feel like itd make a lot of sense if some of the new orbs like cleavorb and that multiball daggorb fusion guy were character specific to some crit centric guy

The broccoli/ muscircle has been my favorite build with this new update, and I love Ballution!

I was trying all run to force ballwark to unlock the Balladin, but had absolutely no luck and then somehow ended up getting offered a ballution orb every single fight on the third floor. Ended up getting the achievement against the upsidedown elite, but also got 80 stacks up against the dragon boss. VERY excited to see you try that character out once you unlock it.

Imagine a ball that gives muscircle for every peg hit, but transforms pegs into crits. I'm thinking the name, "irorbular".

There is an orb which does no damage, but doubles the amount of ballution on an enemy. I used a couple of those orbs to get enough ballution for the character unlock, it was actually quite helpful on the final boss.

I had a run the other day where my muscircle went from 3 to 22 in a single shot, so my big kicker (Signal Boostorb III) was 137 / 9. That was a good run.

The trouble with the class-specific stuff is that peglin basically gets everything but the starting relics, that versatility along with its actual starting relic make it way better than them at their own builds

Because it means the only really meaningful difference with the other classes is being limited to certain orbs, they have nothing unique

If you want to hit 50 poison, you have to comit. Which involves not taking *ANY* damage buffs until you hit the achievement. The second you took that first muscircle you already lost. The Ballution Orbs i know are: Basic 2*Level Ghost 1*Level Aimed 2*Level Aimed Double existing Stacks

I had also wanted to really unlock the poison character and kept on getting crappy setups, so I ended up just save scumming (if the shop / chest doesn't have what I want, back out to menu and reload) just to get enough poison relics and orbs to get the unlock done.

The character you get from the ballution achievement is really good from what I've seen

the way i did the ballution achievement first try was using a witches brew and target the tankiest enemy to stack to 25 and use the orb that doubles poison stacks

Btassicaceae Knuckles is cracked- in my last run i was trying to build up enough ballwark to unlock the new character (and i had gift that keeps on giving. i was getting ~30 ballwark a throw) and i literally power scaled too fast to hit 100

Allorbnothing is such a pitfall, IMO. You do a lot of damage, sure. But if its not the last thing you throw, you can screw over any future damage you need. Personally, it often hurts as much or more than it helps.

4:02 "Not that good of a poison relic"? It applies literally the most possible at once (that I've seen), not counting the orb that doubles the stacks of poison, which can't work alone. The only thing better than it is the orb that's basically the exact same but targets any enemy, which isn't really that much different. (Yes that one can apply poison on a whiff, but, you can always shoot the sting one and hit like 1 peg or something.) As far as I am aware, there are 4 poison orbs, and 0 poison relics. There is also one 'debuff' orb, which works with all debuffs on an enemy already, which CAN help with poison.... but it isn't good at it. Orbs: the Sting that you had here, the Toil and Trouble that you passed, the purple skull one that hits all enemies (but gives a max of 3 stacks, instead of 6, so is NOT worthwhile), and the one that doubles the poison. Best way I found is, play on NOT cruciball, and go for it against the final boss. You want 2 orbs that apply 6 poison, and 1 of the double poison orb, as well as the persist ring (so you can shoot the doubling one twice in row). Just stack up to like 15 poison, double to 30, double to 60; ez unlocks. ....actually getting the super rare poison doubling orb, is the issue.

You could probably stack poison on the boss, that only takes damage by the number of hit pegs.

I got 50 stacks of poison on an elite because I did no damage. All I had was poison nearly died, but I kept a bramble and every attack applied blind and I had that applied Bramble every time I applied behind, so I permanently stunned him

As someone who has the other character, I don’t feel like he is necessarily a poison character, although I may just not understand him. I hope in the future new characters may include those that appear in the game as events, though, like Haglin and the Peglin Chef.

It really feels like there should/is going to be a bard character that has a lot of orbs that give buffs like muscircle and spinesse

Hey t do you think that if you use a maxed out build that uses the ability to shoot the same orb over and over again that is how you stack the poison on the dragon or some other high health boss

I once managed to get a level 3 daggorb and safety net, 112~ damage to start with a crit

I guess I got extremely lucky, but I managed to unlock both the characters in the same run, it was like my second run after the update.

hmm knowing now that the classes section off synergies behind themselves and OG Poglin I wonder what mechanics will get classes It seems like they want the Muscircle/Spinese/Ballance stuff to be generic, as well as bomb synergies (which is a shame because I would have loved a bomber peglin class) Of course it's entirely possible that much like Ballwerk and Ballution they'll create new mechanics for each character that gets added

Matrioshka shell giving the -2,-2 is good for stacking poision although you need to do at least 1 damage so the relic that gives echo 15 is pog( yes i know the spelling is wrong. No i do not care)
