Dude knew what he wanted and didn't want, then either went for it or cut them from his life. I respect that. The help he gave the ex was a chance. If she took it, it could change her life. If she didn't, she would be stuck in her rat hole for the rest of her life. He didn't give her money, a new home, but a chance. He already gave her a home, she blew it. He gave her money, she blew it. So, I'm glad she didn't blow that chance.

Reddit has a problem with him not moving on . She used him for money , cheated on him when he was in a coma (probably during there whole relationship) got a house and 1yr of alimony. But after that all that he still doing her favors .

Saw this story before but this one had more updates/info. I have no problem with him giving her the house to escape. A also have no problem with him helping her get a new job. Now fixing her problems with money, I would have been against that. This guy is a free spirit and freedom means more to him than money.

its amazing how all these stories magically end with them having some kind of relationship with the person who wronged them, whether its ex partners/partners/siblings. can't say I've met a single person who once they got rid of their betrayer they ever had anything to do with them again, maybe thats because that was reality and not fiction where people want to come out on top and remain the "better" person in a jesus like fashion of forgiving sins.

I'd say one thing. If the ex remarries someone besides OP, I'd bet she's going to ask him to be the man-of-honor.

After all, if he was as spineless as you're talking about, he would have just taken her back and given anything she would have asked for. Instead, he just talked one of his friends into giving her an honest chance, and she's got to put in the effort to make that work.

OP is a bit pathetic and toxic and I knew it when he said he wouldn't actively avoid her as if he knew he would be seeing her at some point. Also he didn't block her from social media, which means he wants direct yet indirect way of still being in contact with her. Hey! So OP said he has been traveling across the country for 5 years and will go to Canada in a month or two. Then he got offered a trip to South America. Based on this, it seems he has not visited Canada yet, and South America will be the first time he travels outside the US. That being said, I have no way of verifying if the story is 100% true, so it could be fake.
