@@caricanread I was a fresh 18 yr old and wanted a tattoo 😭😂 I genuinely loved this series in my teens, it was an obssessive thing for me. I got a 'falling' feather done on the side of my neck to represent Patch's last feather. Which could be worse tbh! It's somewhat a passable tattoo. But, yeah, I re-read the books and realised that Patch was a groomer-ish and tbh the books aren't great. 😂So now I am stuck with a tattoo of a series I hate LOL. At least it's cute.

I encountered first book as a Harry Styles fan fiction online over 10 years ago. Somebody online had copy-pasted the first few chapters of the first book and changed the male MC's name for Harry, the fic was left unfinished. Months later I picked up this series at a bookstore, two chapters in I was surprised at the constant feeling of deja vu as I read. Everything was just COMPLETELY unreadable for me after that lolol. The first 4 weren't amazing, but at least some of the character's were likable then, like Nudge and Iggy. It got weird real fast. I read Angel when it came out and that was it for me, I gave up on it. I don't even remember what happened in Angel I just remember it feeling like a fever dream. Fun fact Hush Hush was supposed to be a standalone book but Becca Fitzpatrick's Publisher/editor pushed for her to make it a series,so Crescendo (which is usually the most disliked book of the four) is just Becca finding ways to keep the story going. Also the touching Patch scars and the (spoilers) when they do the blood oath and he feels physical touch for the first time permanently altered my brain chemist.

As someone who just read the books, I was also lost in this video at times. I swear the books aren't this confusing--some major details were missed! I enjoyed watching how someone else digested this series but I wouldn't rely on this video when making the decision of whether or not to give it a read. I think it deserves a lot more credit than it gets. Yes, it's cheesy and could benefit from more detail of the Nephiligm/Archangels but it's a good read with many twists and turns that make you want to keep on reading. 😊

I'd say you were lost because she just skipped over things... Most of the plot points. Like I'm unsure how she got to the epilogue without knowing that Vee was Nephilim? Was she actually reading this book or just skimming 😅 Why was she so confused the whole time 😂 the plot may be stupid but it really wasnt that confusing (I say this but I havent reread these books since I was a teen...though I don't remember being confused at all the first time I read them)

I read these books as a young teen, and even then was like "what is even happening?" And ended up never finishing the series. It was really funny to see that it wasn't just me, and that these books were really just all over the place. There was another fallen angel series, Tormented, that I started reading at the same time that had very similar problems. Anyway, congratulations on 300,00! I really enjoy these 'So You Don't Have To' videos and can't wait to see the rest of the Shadow Hunters stuff. I would also like to recommend you check out the 'House of Night' book series for your videos, it has an interesting take on vampires and goes 'creative' places with the story.

I hated the protagonist so much! The worst of it all is that Nora thought that she was "not like other girls" but to 15 yo me she was?? Like I remember thinking that she was some sort of "popular girl", so to me she was a hypocrite. Also as you said, every character is just plain awful. Thankfully I borrowed this book to a friend and never saw it again, so it's no longer on my bookshelf lmao

As a teen, I was absolutely obsessed with it (and Patch), OBSESSED 😂 But years later, although I'm still fond of it, I see how unhinged and dramatic (and problematic) it really is. That's why, earlier this year, I sold my copies and let someone else enjoy them. Because I don't see myself rereading it, like ever, simply because I'm way too adult for that now 😂 (And if you enjoy it as an adult, good for you! It's just not sth that I see myself coming back to ever again, my TBR is way too long for that 😂).
