they actually arent that long. every book on kindle i swear is longer than the physical books. i just looked at my books....4th book...which she said was over 900 pages. In fact is only 689 pages and the 5th book isnt 700....it is 552.

@@caricanread the battle scene was the worst. See when I downloaded the bought the books from kindle. I didn’t have the bonus chapters. Except the ones at the end of the book from a different POV. I just notice kindle books are always longer. It like when u go to goodreads and it shows you how many pages it is compared to ebook, paperback, and hardback. I want to stop reading this series. But I just got book five. AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED WHAT IN THOSE FOUR MONTHS OF HER BEING STONE.

I don't know how to really explain this... but these books are written almost exactly like a Danny Gonzalez skit.

But honestly, taking the first love interest and making him not only bi, but get together with another male character at the end is kind of one of the best things I've seen in one of these books. Like these heavily het books usually either have no lgbt romance or one that's barely mentioned and is there just for fodder. Putting the first love interest into an lgbt romance by the end kind of rocks.

To anyone who is confused, there are actual characters, confirmed gay, who will randomly be straight in fanfic. It's not the same as taking a character who has a romantic interest of oppisite sex and say, "this character could be bi :)" it's like saying, "I know this character is happily married to someone of the same sex, but actually I don't want them to be gay because them I can't be attracted to them!!!!" in fangirl speak

I've dealt with so many goddamn YA "pretty boys" at this point it's lost its luster and the only chance of me ever calling someone a pretty boy if he's actually androgynous enough to be one (yo Stav Stratko, Valentin von Porcelain and Andreja Pejic anyone?), not some fluffy-haired pasty barbeque stick with a jawline, Doc Martens, and daddy issues. Then again, an example is that one casanova catman from The Nine Lives Of Chloe King who annoyed me to the ends of the Earth that I resisted the urge to stick my arm through the book and throttle the author so...yeah.

I’m watching this for two reasons: 1: Your narration of the story is amusing and I genuinely feel bad you put yourself through this. 2: I want to find out what to avoid in my own WIP.

No literally when I read the 1st chapter before the book was ruined in the wash machine, it mentioned Legacies so I kept thinking it was a Legacies rip off or fanfic with different names and locations 💀💀

This series was such a terrible good time. It's just fun. If you want a time killer that will make you smile, this might be it. Got me out of a serious reading slump. I haven't gotten into Charm yet. The fluff is real.

This author has serious potential writing comedic fantasy. Genuinely a lot of these lines are really funny

The way this series has stolen plot points from every popular YA paranormal romance series in the past 10 years from ACOTAR to Twilight, to Mortal instruments is mind boggling

Man, this makes Zodiac Academy’s plot sound simplistic and straightforward

I'm at the point where flint reveals he's in love with Jaxon, and I have to say if those two get together I may just have to give her 5 stars on Goodreads for that.... It's too iconic....

As I was reading the first book I couldn't help but laugh with how similar the writing is to Twilight. I just kept thinking the author isn't even trying to hide the similarities then when Grace actually receives a copy of Twilight I lost it I started crying from laughter 🤣🤣🤣

Not even 2 minutes in and Jaxon Vega is one of the best drag names I've ever heard. Why didn't I think of that?!!

the titles are amazing, i agree. we need more books with funny and whacky titles. for a while, they seemed to have disappeared. i think theyre making a comeback :)

These books are what happens when Twilight meets Vampire Diaries meets Legacies meets Originals, but like in a very cheap way

"Her final form in crave" caught me so off guard I absolutely lost it

29:22 "Why are you playing Flo Rida?" is great, but I'm also taken by the following paragraph where she crashes into his chest "squawking like an angry pterodactyl the whole way" I bet the author was having so much fun writing this. I can't even be mad.

The twilight/ flo rida insert had me dead 💀😭😂

Did I love these books for what they are, kinda silly but very fluffy? Yes. Did I read each in like 2 days? Also Yes. Am I ready to watch this review talking about how silly they are? 1000%

I could see this being made into a good tv series or movies, BUT a lot would need to be taken out/changed. A good screenwriter would have to come in and fix it all.

The first book was really bad, and then suddenly I cared about the conflict for some reason. Then the second book I cared more. Honestly I'm caught up and plan to continue keeping up. I watched all of PLL. I plan to read all of this. And nobody can stop me 😈 Side note but I wish they did more of this kind of thing aimed at men like me. I don't mind the tropes that much but I'd like a first person story of a man who falls for a moody vampire woman without the "I'm a manly man" dynamic. I just want a soft boy and his vampire mommy is that too much to ask? I'm basically at a point where I'd like to learn writing just to do it myself.

I respect your plight! To be honest a lot of the basis of even like fanfic writing is “I wish this was a thing so I’m going to write it myself” and that honestly is a lot of fun so I encourage you to write that soft boy x vampire mommy, even if nothing comes of it the journey of thinking about it in and of itself can be really fun! But also I hope your can find a book that caters to your fantasies.

If I had the willpower to stick with this kind of stuff, I would 100% write the dommy vampy mommy. But no soft boy. No manly man. Just a dude that gets thrown into for some reason in the Magic School© and, while he is excited and amazed by the fantasy element, is absolutely weirded out by how everyone else act. Just imagine trying to have a conversation with these people, just for the topic of girls to come up and have them start measuring each other testosterone levels and going at it while yelling about bonds and mates. Have everyone else talk and act like these weirdos while the MC acts as a rational human being trying to have a fucking normal time at school

The difference in pages between the online copy and the physical copies is crazy 😭 the largest physical copy is like 700 something pages and the fifth book which is the smallest is like 500 something

as someone who bought + read the first book like two years ago (it was a hardcover and it was sooo expensive im still crying abt it) bc my friend said it was so good and I didn't want to disappoint her.....this is my moment of healing. this video right here. finally someone spoke for the people. thank you

The plot in these books are INSANE and confusing! Plus Hudson charmed Lia but Grace brushes it off? 😭 I would be furious! Why are her reactions not the way they should be? Crazy. Insane. What? Goodness...

By the time I got halfway through Crush I was 100% convinced that the crave series is a Paranormal High School ACOTAR AU fanfic and I haven't stopped believing it. I don't know who her cousin would be but the Hudson and Jaxon dynamic feels so much like someone who thought "Hmm but what if Tamlin and Rhys were brothers?" Because Hudson feels very much like a Rhys variation.

@@iRandom2xoh god. i actually dont mind the acotar series (and throne of glass), its just one of my guilty pleasures especially since i love all kinds of court intrigue and the world is just interesting to me. but with a book series this bad,,,,, combined with the really complicated smutfest of acomaf,,,, im scared

It's a good time. It doesn't take itself too seriously and the plot points hit levels of crazy, and I need that drama in my life. Not happening to me, but as a witness through text on a page.

Her being a gargoyle is more hilarious knowing that a real gargoyle is a rainspout and everything else is technically just a grotesque. So the entire time I'm just thinking she's not a gargoyle, she's a grotesque! And it kills me. Edit: Also, I feel I went down the same path as you. Loved the first one because it was Twilight at 11 and just so ridiculous. But the more I read, the more I just hated it. I've been doing the audiobooks so at least I can do other things while listening, but the last book I listened to (Court) took me sooooo long because I just didn't want to listen anymore. It just gets more ridiculous. At first, it felt very tongue in cheek. But it no longer does. And it's just so hard to get through.

When she gets to the "fooking" bit, it's immediately like Hardin screaming "Fooking Trevor?" 🤣🤣🤣 I haven't seen the After movies, but the reviews I've seen are pure gold 🔥

The fact that you were reading that 900 page book while fighting a fever is actually amazing. Like just hearing about the book felt like a fever dream so props to you for going through both at the same time hahaha

The fact that I devoured these books, and somehow every book is longer than the one before. But I loved every second of it. It was so bad that it was so good. Kind of a book that you would find on wattpad but because of that i loved it.

This series has literally never been on my radar but I feel like I need to read at least the first book due to the "Alaskan boarding school" piece. My husband is from Alaska and we lived there for three years and usually, people write about Alaska so poorly 🤣

What's crazy is like the first two maybe even 2.5 books take place before they even graduate, and grace showed up like partway through their senior year. It's WILD.
