SenLinYu is an incredibly talented author. The story was truly heartbreaking. It was never supposed to read like a Harry Potter book. It was a blend of 2 different series while also being completely original. I sobbed through 70% of this book! Tons of fanfic books are amazing and it’s amazing what fanfic writers can create with some of our favorite books. She is traditionally publishing this book (without the Harry Potter) and she’s going to experience the success she deserves!

Manacled is the only fanfic I’ve read & it made me want to read more. The fact that it is on par with some published works (in terms of enjoyment for me personally) is insane. Also, the amount and quality of fan art available made the read 10x better. Glad it was somewhat enjoyable for you!

The only fanfic I’ve ever read was My Immortal… I thought that was the most popular Harry Potter one 😂 But Manacled is probably popular for different reasons. Also, noticed the shirt that said “hi everyone it’s me” 😮

Ooh I loved this video! Really fun to see your reactions... and it kind of makes me want to read Manacled too now! Heheh tbh the fact that it's free makes this possibility way more likely- why are books so expensive?! (I say that as if I wouldn't spend money on books, but then as soon as I hear about a new release from a favourite author all restraints go out the window, and I'm preordering the book immediately ;)) Looking forward to the next video!!

Okay I just finished it and I'm not okay. The ending was so bittersweet. I feel like I'm going to keep thinking about this fanfic for a long long time. Off to read the post-Manacled chapter and hoping it eases my heart. 🥲

I’m a big fanfic reader especially this past year where I had that hyper fixation and ff is a great way to feed it but I’m the annoying type that got a ship and can’t switch it up with other characters so I can’t read everything 😫🤣 I agree that sometimes it’s nice to read it on the kindle but I also like the reading on my phone/ipad because I grew up with Wattpad so I’m used to it and I like checking out the comments and have that shared moments with others because well… fanfic are about sharing at the end of the day

I couldn’t get into this, it’s not for me, but it made for a funny video! Harry Potter follows Harry but it’s written in 3rd person POV. I know it can be confusing because the trend these days seems to be 1st person, but I’m a nerd sorry 😂 Cute video! I can’t wait to see what you put out Wednesday. Do you read anything that’s considered horror? Maybe not the season for it right now, but in the fall that could be fun to get some recommendations!

I cannot tell you how fanfiction has made me stan dramoine and other unlikely (but they kind of makes sense) ships. If you plan on reading more HP fanfictions, then definitely read Measure of a Man by inadaze22 (This is my favorite), Timeless by alexandra_emerson, Love in a Time of the Zombie Apocalypse by rizzlewrites (this is even more unlike HP than Manacled😂), All the Young Dudes by MsKingBean89 (Marauders story. Lupin POV) and Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in love by isthisselfcare.

I'm currently reading Manacled! First, I've never read fanfic before. Second, I like HP but I'm not a die hard fan of this series. Was not a Hermione/Draco pairing fan. I do love The Handmaid's Tale though. That being said, I'm sooooo invested in this story. 🫣 The 1st part was sort of hard to get through because of the SA, just like The Handmaid's Tale was. However, the 2nd part is so interesting and I have so many theories and I can't stop thinking about it. HELP. 🫠
