I Ran the 2022 NYC Marathon

This was my first experience at a World Major Marathon. It was my first time running through all 5 boroughs of NYC in 1 day. This has to be one of the best days to be in New York. The energy you get from the other runners, crowd, and volunteers is unreal. If you have ever thought about being a part of the NYC Marathon, let this be the sigh that you should sign up for the race, volunteer, or cheer on familiy and friends.

@@Mbthegamer I only gave myself like 8 weeks lol granted I did have a base level of fitness and could do a 5k fine. I typically do 4 runs a week and then one weight lifting day. One run is just basic wasy run (3-4ish miles), a tempo or speed work run, a long run (7-10miles), and then another easy slow run. On weight days I focus core and lower body exercises. I stretch a little everyday but one of my rest days are purely stretch/mobility focused

So i never understood the reason for getting to Staten Island so early. I actually stayed in Elizabeth, NJ the night before the race. It was a quick 20 mins Uber to the starting village. I left my hotel at 10:15, got to the starting village at 10:35, stretched and relaxed a little bit and got into my corral at 11, as scheduled, for the 11:30 start time. I loved sleeping in and really enjoyed my breakfast in bed.

You don't understand the race organizers' problem They cannot have ALL 50,000 New York City Marathon runners take the same Staten Island Ferry or Midtown bus. Several thousand runners need to go earlier, several thousand more need to go slightly later, several thousand more just a bit later than that. Otherwise they just cannot get all 50,000 runners out there to the start. Just understand the organization side of a massive race like this.

What happens if there is a traffic accident on the road and your Uber can't get through, or the Uber itself is in an accident or breaks down. So then you miss the start. You need to go earlier if you do the race again next year. Think!

Wait, how did you get on the bus before me when I took the 6:15 ferry???!!! 🤔🤔🤔 How come you didn't add that nonsense into your video? I would say based on that, you shouldn't be telling People they can do 2 hours before their start time. Many 1st wave people missed their start times because of the 1-2 hour wait for busses after the ferry
