Frequency, these type of channels tend to gain views because of the time it takes to make a video and the effort put in, but for subs you need to post frequently

I do understand comments like this but in the grand scheme of things they don't help. Why does it matter if he has more subs? We equate more to meaning more successful. What if he doesn't want to grow. As more creators come onto the platform, the bar is even higher because the barrier or entry is so low. For example, you would probably dismiss a channel if all of their videos were made with 480p cameras. That's not the standard anymore. Now that creator feels bad because they can't keep up with current production value. Having a lot of subs means nothing. Everything doesn't have to be about growing. If he is doing what he loves then that's all that matters. More subs can equal more pressure for a creator to create "good" content.

It still suffers the similar issues with social media mentioned in the video, it takes a time away from tasks you would want to do and if you want to use it as a "break" between work it still requires your attention in a similar way to social media, so it's not a restful task at all. I agree KZread can be used for learning, but I'd argue it's still pretty much a social media and should be used cautiously if you want to detox.

Although I went through an intense anxiety phase without it; I feel like that should’ve been talked about a bit more, but maybe that’s just my own experience. i've been off instagram and tiktok for about 6 months now, and i feel much better about my use of technology. i was tired of wasting hours doom scrolling on tiktok, and how shitty instagram is just as a platform. most of all, i hated how many ads i was fed throughout the day. i didn't realize how much i was being sold to on these platforms til every other post was an ad or sponsored video. i don't really feel left out on internet jokes as my friend group is not chronically online (i was the chronically online friend lol) my screen time is still not where i'd like it to be as i watch a lot of shows/movies/long form youtube content on my phone, so still working on that. i still find myself picking up my phone when i'm bored to find something to stimulate me, these habits die hard. social media sucks lol. but i am proud of how far i've come and i know i'm not the only one having these thoughts and feelings with social media so i know we got each other's backs in this great vid, catch ya later

For me key to successfully quitting/cutting back and sticking to it was deleting the apps off my phone. At first it feels like your are cut off from the work but after 2/3 weeks you'll adjust. If you're looking to cut back/quit I'd recommend doing the same, removing your ability to instantly access it will go a long way in to helping you change your usage habits.

I do think it's great to keep in touch with friends (like Facebook), but the sheer volume of empty content just didn't seem worth it. I still watch too many videos, read too many articles. Prior to smartphones, i had a lot more hobbies, read a ton of books. Gotta say, i think i was a better person before our current digital media age.

I’m 26, I was born in ‘97 and I remember the whole explosion in popularity of social media apps, like Snapchat launching, instagram, Vine, Musically, etc. I remember the whole hype over these apps, people were excited, at school, the popular apps were about Facebook, KZread, Vine Snapchat and Instagram (for where I lived, at least), fast forward 11/12 years later and all the buzz and excitement has died down completely, In my opinion, I don’t find these apps any fun anymore, it seems to me they’ve lost their spark they once had, or maybe people have just gotten so used to ‘em being there overtime, maybe I’ve just grown into a grumpy old cow (in my age lol) but I just don’t have the time, energy and passion for social media these days, it’s just not what it used to be anymore, which in some instances, isn’t a bad thing but still. I’m definitely thinking of quitting social media as a whole, get myself a new hobby or an interest, the future of social media is looking very unpredictably predictable, I mean who’s to say that they won’t start asking users to pay to access those apps in future tense? Who knows.

Cool video! I am on day 2 of my social media detox. I deleted Facebook a few years ago and never thought about it since, never had snapchat, twitter or tiktok but have had instagram since. I totally agree with what you said in this video - it used to be social but it's really changed. I have a private instagram account where I just follow people I like, yet my feed is FILLED with sponsored ads, breaking news, sad videos on animals being abused, how is it allowed on my feed when I don't follow the pages? I'm only 2 days in and to be honest, I've been too busy to notice not having it so I don't feel any different yet, but I look forward to observing noticeable and hopefully positive changes. I could write a long list of reasons to get rid of it, why I wouldn't let a small child get it and yet, I wouldn't be able to write a long list to reasons TO have it - why do I have it? New subscriber :D x

Well it will be a year Jan 1st 2024. I don’t miss it at all. I lost a lot of friends because they lost in the virtual reality. It changed my habits and I’m way more productive. I’ve accomplished so much because I’m no longer distracted. It’s hard to be around people that’s on their phone. You feel odd because you want to engage in the moment but they have their head down talking about things that’s not even present. I regret ever wasting time with it. You then see how the world have changed so much when you have all your focus. I watch KZread on my computer. People say I’m weird because normal is just that now. It’s sad what it have done to this society. I have 100% peace and I read books for entertainment and education . I remember when it didn’t even exist.🤷🏾‍♂️ It’s a huge time waste. Sadly, it will never return to how we use to live engaging with others in person. Hope everyone get back to themselves and live life in the present with peace of mind..

I find social media so toxic, especially in today. I have quit. I don't think it was good for my mental health, especially Twitter and Instagram.

3 months after I deleted the app Ive beat my nicotine habit, I’m happier, have more friends I hang with during the week, I have a high paying job… these social media apps take away from your life… just think about the fact that if you stay the same way for your whole life on social media you would’ve spent a quarter of your life watching other peoples.

4:43 rincoglionisciti il più possibile. Non confrontare i tuoi problemi perché non esistono soluzioni. E' vero che risparmieresti tempo e quindi guadagneresti tempo da vivere, però per citare il BROfessor: "Have you ever tried life? It fucking sucks". Vivresti di più. Il punto è che la tua vita non vale niente.
