@@BKRVlogs I actually documented the whole thing and made a video but I kept it unlisted from my youtube. Its sort of long and I think I wanna cut it down and add more broll before I reupload it. You can check it out here if you got time. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nYCImrGsqqzQmsY.html I think my biggest take away now, after making the video, is that I learned I was in control. I leanred I could change my habits and in turn I adopted a bunch of new ones. Yo, side note... Stoked to see local people making youtube videos. Keep it up man. Lmk if youre ever on Oahu. I was a raging alcoholic for over 12 years, quit for over a year after being hospitalized and went back to it and never put it down again since. It ruined my life. I moved from NY to Los Angeles for 3 years to act and model and I ended up homeless and broke because of alcohol. It's the devil of life man and I want to quit again so I'm on board

Quit my friend, talk to God, be the best version of you that you can be, alcohol is false happiness, being you is 100% the real happiness of reality, remember, when you were born and as a child you were fine without alcohol.. you can do it again.

Also a raging alcoholic ,it took me 5 years of really trying to quit it scared me thinking that I couldn't. Luckily one horribly hungover morning I said enough is enough six years ago. At first it was one hour at a time then one day at a time now I'm racking up wonderful healthy years .If I can do it you can to. GOOD LUCK !!

Going on day 95. Have no desire to be in a drunking daze. There are so many other ways to be relaxed and calm. Memory is better. Love not being sick the next day till the afternoon. I was an occasional drinker, parties and bday but then it was every weekend then I couldn’t go 3 days without a drink. Something told me that as Lent was approaching to make my sacrifice big. So I thought what’s my weakness, booze and meat and that what I did. Once lent was over I ate every meat there was lol, but had no desire to drink. Don’t need that downer in my life anymore. Stay strong to all who end up here and get to actually read my comment. You got this.

When you have that realization, its life changing. I abused alcohol, daily, for years, and had that realization one day, while drunk. I was risking my family, and my career. I've been sober 9 years, and CAN NOT go back. Anyways, started watching your channel because we're going to Maui in June, so trying to get some ideas. I appreciate your authenticity about your outlook on life, and the love for your island. Mahalo.

Great perspective man. Being a trend setter, instead of a trend follower is something special. This poison is only legal because of how socially accepted it is, plus, how engrained in our lives it is. No doubt everyone who gives this up will live a far fuller life!

Wow this is a very inspirational video. Thank you. I relocated from South Africa to France about a year ago and wine here is really good, the parties are great and i enjoy going out, meeting people and trying to speak French.. Its really fun. But i started drinking a lot and smoking a lot too. So i first challenged myself to quit smoking, its been 133 days since i smoked my last cigarette. I AM NOT GOING BACK. Then i began a no alcohol challenge, Tomorrow is my 30th day sober, i have been very tempted to drink and my housemates drink a glass of wine everyday and now we are quarantined; they always offer me a glass but i have been going strong. My goal is 60 days.

Your welcome. One word of advice regarding your comment and future if I may. Drinking is ok. The problem comes when you drink to get “drunk”. That’s a sign of other issues that need to be addressed (as you have done so well at this time). Two things to keep in mind is do not drink to get drunk for any reason. Further, if it doesn’t taste good to you, yet you are drinking it then its probably not for a good reason. Drink only that which you enjoy and do it to reasonable limits. I am no expert but I came from an alcoholic family and have witnessed many go down the wrong road. On another note, I was just in Maui with my family (which I have done on multiple occasions) over the holidays and I watched some of your videos about things to do. Thank you for the videos and keep up the good work!!

I work offshore so I have to quit for 6 weeks at a time but in 2019 I quit for ‘sober October’ whilst I was at home, which is a thing we have in the uk each year, and I got sponsored and raised over £100 , now that made me feel good. I drink now though and enjoy it still. Maybe I will quit one day but I still have regular breaks from it. I control IT. IT does not control me and that’s important. Aloha.

Stopping drinking has made me feel more of the feelings I want to feel and experience things without numbing it with booze. Yes it can get "boring" at times but every day I wake up - whether I slept good or not - knowing that I can face the day and be productive...whereas before there were SO many days that I wanted the day to be over before it even started because I was exhausted and miserable.
