Great to see young people beeing interested and working with vintage equipment and do creative work with this old gear!
I really love the look of vintage lenses and the pictures they produce,I recently converted a 50mm FL f1.4 to a Ef mount to use on my speed booster and now this lens is so much fun to use on the speed booster.great work by the way 🔥💪🏽💯
So dreamy! perfect for "flashback" sequences or something like that!

@@curiouswhasian Did you film everything in f1.2? Because other reviews of this lens shows that effect only happening at f 1.2 and it's sharp on other f stops.
What a cool grandfather, great Vlog! Be careful the lens is radioactive
I've got the old canon 28mm 2.8 and 55mm 1.2 that I inherited with my granddad's old Canon AE1 program. Been wondering if I could use these old lenses on my ZV-E10. I just ordered the K&F adapter FD-NEX IV so it'll be fun to see how these compare to my modern lenses.
Looks nice with this vintage lens 👏👏👏

BEAUTIFUL!... I have the same lens and today I got the Fotodiox pro adapter EOS camera to FD/FL lenses.. But for some reason it is impossible to mount the lens on the adapter... Any suggestions? Thanks!!!!!
such a cool promist look
Please let me know what brand of adapter did you buy for your camera?
Nice! I have the FL 58mm f1.2 as well. It really is a lovely lens. I use it for both video and still.

What adapter do you use bro? I'm struggling to find any =(
what kind adapter are you using for ?
Hi, What do you think about FL55 F1.2 instead of FL58? Do you think that is any good? Cause I haven't found any EOS mount to use on Canon EOS 7D. Please let me know your thoughts.
regular fd mount to emount adapter will work for this?
What adaptor did you use?
Yo that's a sick lens. Loved the shots on it. Were the highlights that hazy out of camera?
@curiouswhasian

Thanks man! And yeah this lens renders the highlights to be very soft! It’s a super interesting look.....
Hello there.. nice cinematic shots, I love it! With that old lens, maybe you should try also play with dramatic cinematic color, like more to greenish or bluish, could be interesting, and... maybe.. with a little bit story.. like 2 or 3 mins short film about anything. Goodluck filmmaker, love your channel!

Hello, I have a question, does the adapter allow you to move the lens diaphragm? I have the same lens but my adapter won't let me change the aperture. Greetings from Mexico

I have exactly the same problem, did you find a solution? :)
You have to be a lot more carfull using a f1.2 lens. You will get it. I like the 55mm f1.2 and the Olympus f1.2 lens. Try making a lens hood. A long one from lens filter adapters. Keep the sun out of the lens. I can see the effect here a lot. Also, to avoid the Sony A7 from overheating open up the LCD to let air in behind it. So that is the thing with f1.2 lenses, they have a very slight DOF wide open, like mm's. So plan your shots. Did you ever white balance your camera? It doesn't really look like it.

sorry that you didn't enjoy this video man. Made this video a while back, learned a lot since then though. Thanks for the feedback

Try using a rotatable Polaroid filter (find a used one on eBay) . I have the 50mm f1.2 and that helps with contrast. However, the coatings on these lenses are not the best. So, use a lens hood too. There is a guy on KZread who made one out of black construction paper and it worked great.
Way Cool

Did you stop down for any of these shots or did you shoot wide open for everything? Was wondering if the highlight halation cleans up when stopped down. Thanks!
@curiouswhasian
3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching! If I recall correctly, the most I stopped down was f4. Probably should have payed more attention to my exposure settings, I think that would have been helpful to include. Halation was pretty bad even when I stopped down, but it’s also important to note that this particular copy of the lens has a ton of fungus inside of it 😂

@@curiouswhasian Appreciate the response. Thanks for sharing the video and your experience with this lens! Cheers
Did you apply any post stabilization for the scene inside the house or was that all pure out of the camera? because I know that lenses that have longer focal lengths tend to easily shake a lot. Thanks!
@curiouswhasian

No post at stabilization for the house shots, but my camera does have ibis so that certainly helps with the micro jitters!

I shouldn't even be looking at other lenses, especially owning the 24,50, and 85 1.4 Sigmas, but dammit there's something about fast vintage glass. Shots look great as usual dude!
