We really appreciated your feedback and hope you'll check out future iterations of Kristala! We were stoked to see you had so much fun with the Earthquake spell. Def a personal favorite of ours as well 😆 We're working on AI improvements including perception, patrols, and ways to deal with the player climbing on roof-tops. We also have a ton of unique stuff in store like our feline skill tree where you can acquire abilities like enhanced night-vision as well as additional stealth and traversal skills. On top of that, we are adding a full cat customizer so you can decide to play as any cat your heart desires, collectible familiars that will assist you on your journey, giant canine steeds you'll be able to ride around on during exploration, and six diff clans to choose from that determine your magic abilities with the ability to make hybrid builds in NG+. Was really awesome watching you play and we're honored to be amongst such good company in this video. Really digging Crowsworn's art style!

To combat the stealth issue, maybe implement a skill tree based on stealth giving you the option to unlock stealth attacks on different enemy types, and as standard having no backstab? Would make the game start off with a lot more movement and make you use the other skills in combat. Would also allow you playthroughs with no backstabs as a harder run etc! Looks good so far though!

I put 85 hours into Dysmantle, it's a great game to listen to music and progress through. Also has a pretty great story that slowly reveals itself to you. I accidentally spoiled the main reveal of the story while looking up a hint to a secret I had already found. That really upset me but it was my own damn fault. once you get a high-level weapon destroying an entire town is a lot of fun. I enjoyed the 2 DLC, my only complaint is that throughout the entire game, you see these flowers and can't interact with them until you do one of the DLCs (I did that one last on accident). But I do agree that it isn't a high-stress game but I highly enjoyed the experience.

I love how Iron Pineapple really has developed an acute sense of game critique. He can identify potential design issues and improvements at a very high level and distills the points into an easily digestible format. It would be very easy to just have reaction/highlights of all these games but the additional analysis is great and informative!

When it comes to Crowsworn, one particular quote comes to mind. "Imitation is the Sincerest form of Flattery". It may feel like it's imitating Hollow Knight quite closely at times, but when the game clearly plays well, handles well, and just generally shows that its being built with care and concern, I think its safe to say that the Imitation is more of a refinement of existing excellence than any attempt to simply "copy" the original. Definitely looking forward to this one releasing in the future.

The grind is halved when two people can smash up a house, and the small bits where you farm are made easier that way too. One thing that I really liked was that you could upgrade the towers so that enemies wouldn't respawn in that area. Oh, and that eating food provided permanent buffs. I wouldn't have played the game on my own, but co-op really softened its rough edges.

Something I want to add in regards to Strayblade's battle mechanics; having the enemies flash a colour when their about to attack but STILL having the actual parry/dodge timing tied to the animation instead made it strictly worse. Actually just having no flash of colour at all and having us memorise which attacks can be dodge/parry would have been better. The way it was done in the game is very unintuitive, to the point that the flash kind of works against the player by essentially goading us to pay attention sooner than we actually need to. I think committing either way to a more straightforward system of "dodge/parry when it flashes" or a a more challenging "learn the enemies' moveset" could have saved it from most of the criticisms in terms of the moment-to-moment combat

That penguin game is so fucking epic dude. I kinda wanna buy the god bat just to support the dev. It looks a little janky for me personally but it is just dumb fun and is goofy as fuck. That's the kinda shit I like.

Same. I'd probably even put up with the combat. I like reacting, though it will get stale if you can't do anything else. Those boss bugs were pretty problematic, though. Seeing them refusing to attack the player was discouraging. But if they've kept working on the game, there's hope.

Was playing Baldur's Gate 3 with my friend He bet me 10 dollars he would not be able to do the second attack of extra attack after starting a combat and waiting for initiative to roll back around to his turn. I've been telling him for days it works. Woke up this morning to Pseudoregalia in my library, just finished it. 14/10. Fantastic game and my friend still owes me 4 dollars.

Honestly the best part of this series is seeing the actual hidden gems and how much attention they’ve gotten since you’ve covered them. My steam wishlist has nearly doubled since watching this series. I know it’s a little more well known, but I’d consider giving “Tunic” a look. It was marketed like a Zelda clone but after playing it, it feels a lot more inspired by Souls. That being said, there’s a lot more to the game than just being “soulslike” and even if it’s not covered, I encourage everyone to check it out

I think Crowsworn looks like something I will enjoy playing, yet I can't help but feel that it seriously blurs the line between taking inspiration and just straight up cloning.

Does it even matter? Hollow Knight is a fantastic game. The Crowsworn devs are clearly putting in loads of effort and care towards creating a beautiful and quality game. Compare it to something like Gleamlight. Clearly inspired by Hollow Knight to the same degree. Completely garbage game. Close to zero side paths. Straight up linear. Mediocre combat. Just not a fun game. Crowsworn looks great.

Imagine you spent years making your dream game. The tragedy of it being you can never play it for the first time because you know it too well. If I was a member of Team Cherry I'd be absolutely exstatic to have the opportunity to play Crowsworn.

It literally looks like a trace. It's a shame, because Crowsworn could easily have stood on its own without tracing the enemy attacks and painting over the areas. The art itself is so gorgeous and then the game starts moving, bam literally just Hollow Knight.

This has become such an impressive & important series. I imagine it's the sort of thing that unintentionally blew up on you. One of those magical ideas that wound up working out beyond your wildest dreams. Just want to say that it wouldn't be the same without you. If anyone else were doing it, a lot would be missing. Thank you.

I want to quickly come in here and say that I took the risk and bought Stray Blade and I believe it is very much worth it now, they fixed almost every bug, it runs very smooth on PS5, they overhauled the old color coded combat and now it feels like proper souls combat, it had a lot of charm and love put into it, and I personally feel like it deserves more attention, if anyone here is a fan of those similar games such as Kingdoms of Amalur or Asterigos plus Souls it’s a must buy in my eyes.

You should play Absolver. It’s made by the same people who did Sifu. It’s kind of a souls like but with in depth hand to hand combat. It’s the most fun game I’ve played in forever, looks really cool, but sadly is really short. You also get to have unique fighting styles and have to fight bosses. Trust me it’s awesome.
