Violin player here. Grew up in a musical house, piano too. Great appreciation for all things musical. Young fellow, you are a national treasure. I know I'll be watching for you. Perhaps a CD?

I played violin from age 8 to 11. I quit taking lessons when my instructor told me I would have to practice 6 hours a day after school. I thought about it and came to the conclusuon that I would never have time to play with my friends. I quit. I hated quiting but I could not continue if all of my time was going to be taken up practicing. 😢

Hey there, I’ve played violin since I was 3 and I’m 22 now. I wouldn’t say I’m professional or anything but I’m decent enough to play in small orchestras and in pit orchestras for musicals. And I did not practice for 6 hours a day. That is complete baloney. As my teacher would say, it’s not how much or for how long you practice, it’s HOW you practice. You can spend a lot of time on something and not see improvement if you don’t break it down and work on it in tiny steps. I would practice about half an hour to an hour a day, and I found that much more helpful than trying to push for more. Plus, the important thing is finding enjoyment in the instrument. If you’re that heartbroken about giving it up, that means you genuinely wanted to play it. My advice would be to find a different teacher (I went through three in my life), and start small. It’s not too late to come back to it if you really want to.

@@id3794 I am in my 60"s now. Unfortunayely, I stopped playing entirely. Life has regrets. We just have to put them out of our mind and keep on living.

HOLY SMOKES ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ And I truly feel for the folks who walk straight past, don't even look up from their phones wrapped up in their own little world. These people who have real talent are put on this Earth for a reason. May your fingers always be able to play, your eyes to see, and your ears to hear. THANKYOU. 😁💖🇦🇺❤❤❤❤❤❤
