This was a significant learning opportunity that Dina was offering to that kid. She gave up her queen advantage on purpose and forced him to play tons of endgames. Of course the kid theoretically should have resigned. But he learned so much more by continuing.

Cool demo on knight and bishop checkmate. It’s the first time I’ve seen it over the board. If you don’t want to lose, don’t play chess. I’ve lost far more games than I’ve won. But the one’s I’ve won, especially against “stronger” players - just grand.

Totally styled on that kid with the promotion of the pawn to a knight. You could see the smile on the kid's face when Dina did that.

GM Daniel (Danya) Naroditsky, head coach of the Charlotte Chess Center, is seen sitting in the background at the start of the video. When his game ends he stops briefly to watch Dina’s game. They have collaborated before, and both are of Russian decent. I was insinuating, with of course zero actual knowledge of the facts, that there are romantic reasons that Dina is in Charlotte. If that were true, and that union produced offspring, those babies would have Danya’s and Dina’s looks, brains, parenting and ethnic heritage. Cute little Russian chess prodigies.

She taught all those kids (and me) not go in the corner. She dragged it out for effect, then pounced. Schooling us all sticks better because she adds the entertainment. I spotted 10 kids at one moment, each and every one of them with a smile. Those kids obviously like Dina. Tens of thousands of us across the world feel the same way. @@yogseventy-nine3460 its call incremental time, theres many time formats for chess. So basically each time you make a move you get a few seconds back. There is also non incremental where no time is gained.
