Could be fun in a magic game where you have to say the spell you're casting. Would probably still need to be a supplemental element where your basic spells you can cast innately. It’s not out until February next year, so hopefully they’ll patch up a bit. ACE Team is always interesting, even when their ideas don’t quite work
Stop! Buddy you can't keep doing this! It's only a matter of time until you go hollow!

Wow - at 30:10, the big boss has animations to keep the lantern on a stick in the background, even when he turns around to face left.

The animator of that boss here: Don't even mention it. It was a complete pain in the ass to make this big guy work. He has a bodybag on his back, with the lantern so it's asymmetric. But the way the turning around is done in the game makes is really hard to do asymmetric stuff work. So I had to fiddle with them around in the turn animations and eye it so it doesn't jerks around when he's going from one animation to an other. Long story short, it's nice to see someone noticed it. At least now I feel like all that extra work was not in vain :D

@@bookfish Was the boss inspired by Yorick from League of Legends or is the resemblance coincidental?
Clash: artifacts of chaos just seems so weird that it's oddly good... idk how to explain it lol. 4:39 idk why, that scene just threw me off so hard, but I guess I can relate to it lol. 6:31 It's like old school corpse runs. Lmao, 7:00 it takes the best of what dark souls has to offer.
ACE team also made The Eternal Cylinder, which is one of my favorite games. It’s a bizarre, story-driven survival game that involves avoiding a giant crushing cylinder.

The Deadly Tower of Monsters deserves more love too. Simple twin-stick shooter that turns into one of the best homage/parodies of B-Movies I've seen. Excellent stop-motion effects and truly insane fourth wall breaks.

Yeah. TEC gotta be one of the most inspiring things I've ever played, watched and listened to in my life. The game's fan community is also very nice.
I'm so glad you mentioned Zeno Clash. Such a bizarre, one of a kind game.
Clash actually looks amazing. Gonna give it a try for sure
The trailer for Clash was the first time I watched a youtube ad and went "hmm, let me check this out" in the years I've been watching videos. Wishlisted immediately.
The art style and creativity in that first game is freaking awesome!

Some of the best VA in an indie game that I've seen. They hired pro actors for that.
Love the art style of Clash. It would work for an animated series.
Whoever made the Art for the Arifact clash game should get hired by every studio ever.... it's so unique i love it
Watching the production quality of your channel grow over the years has been one of the best parts lmao, the Elite Knight animations are just getting better and better
That first game looks awesome, super unique and interesting! Like something that came put in the mid two thousands! I really miss games like this! Everyone plays it so safe these days!
15:15 when you can't afford a decent pc to play Dark Souls, but this game give you more power the lower your build is.
Bro whoever made the animations for zeno clash and artifacts of chaos need a raise. They look so good
Words cannot describe how much I enjoy every video of this series lmao Every now and then I watch the whole series again
The gift that keeps on giving. Dude, Weird RPG is absolutely inspired. Giving buffs to sub-optimal PCs? Beautiful.
I fell in love with Clash: Artifacts of Chaos. That game is something else
First one is straight up God of war/Demon Souls mixe up with goofy "badass" characters and it's amazing freaking piece of art at times
Iron Pineapple is the embodiment of the mother meme telling their kid they have dark souls at home
The editing of this video is outstanding. They're all good, but I have noticed that each video has been better than the last. Great work, that hard work is seen and appreciated.
The first game had an incredible art style.
30:25 that's straight up Yorick from league
funfact: ACE team's first game was the Batman Doom mod. A pretty fantastic total conversion mod where you play as the Azrael Batman (the 90's batman that had guns and flamethrowers on his wrists) gunning down various villains in gotham
"The monsters is getting more". That's basically what happens when I spend my night overthinking.
@30:30 wait that's Yorick from LoL
When he got hit by that falling chandelier you could hear the chain snap before he even got to the bridge. So any future hits taken from it is all on the player. More games should use audio cues to warn you of traps, it’s pretty cool.
“Bread make bread go up. High bread good. Low bread bad.” Truer words have never been spoken. 🍞
I just recently bought and finished Northern Journey, which was pretty incredible and I absolutely never would have heard of if it weren’t for your video on it, so THANK YOU for shouting out these obscure, often bad, but always interesting games!
Clash is giving me big Absolver vibes. I played Zeno Clash 1 and I loved it, definitely keeping an eye on this!
may the soulslikes keep coming in
1:56 This is (in my opinion) the best reaction player can have when seeing first enemy in your game. XD For 99% of cases its just *"So anyway, I started blasting"* But here? *"Oh, what the fuck is that?!"* And it didn't even jumped him. It was just... There. XD
Dude, I love ACE Team. I was all over them back in the day because of how surrealist their work is. It doesn't seem as solid as Zeno Clash (even though that was buggy as well), but I still love their world design. Another game they made which I liked a lot is Abyss Odyssey.

First one was actually kind of fun, it is lacking in a few departments and certainly needs more polishing but potential is there.

Man I absolutely loved the Zeno Clash games. Don’t even remember where I learned about them. Thrilled there’s a new Clash and that it looks so wild
That first game has a great art style and looks like a lot of love went into it. Mandragora looks like it could be good.
I love how the games alternate between The Most Visually Impressive Thing You've Ever Seen and This Style Of Visuals Is Known As "Jank"
I love everything Ace Team has done to date, especially Zeno Clash, their work is just so unique! I am looking forward to going back to Zenozoik! Thanks for bringing it to people's attention, I am hoping this gets more traction than Eternal Cylinder!
The Clash: Artifacts of Chaos looks very cool actually
Zeno Clash and its sequel are great. Their Actraiser clone was pretty good too. Ace Team is great.
The first game is likely going to go far. They've got a style (weird ass alien worlds and creatures) and it's worked a lot for them so far. I've heard good things about The Eternal Cylinder, at least. Here's hoping they can polish Clash up and get a final release.
This made me want to play zenoclash 1+2 again, man I love those games. So happy that Clash is on it's way, I know I'm going to love getting lost looking at that world.
This series is long enough now that it officially qualifies as a souls like in of itself.
Every time this series gets another entry I am filled with joy
Oh my god Clash looks dope. As soon as you mentioned it was Ace Team I was curious (Zeno Clash!!! Rock of Ages!), but watching that gameplay I am SOLD. Their games have so much style and feeling and excellent gameplay, and Clash Artifacts of Chaos looks to be their biggest and maybe best so far. And yet I hadn't heard about it from anywhere else before now, which is crazy. Thanks for the video. I'm gonna watch the rest of it now, lmao.
I am forever indebted to you for reminding me of Zeno Clash. I loved those games as a kid and could never remember what they were called or enough about them to find them. THANK YOU!!!
Honestly all of these had at least some charm to them. Clash looks like a fever dream, in a good way. ("Grandpa is dead!" "...Yes.")
