Go for Blue as there’s an endless boring saturation of greys n blacks out there! I put a deposit down for M2 three months ago without even seeing the final design as new it would be awesome anyway. Currently running a Z4 M40i which i love to bits, so a hard choice for me.

I don't think £61k is a good price at all when the 2019 Competition version was £50k. So nearly £70k if you want the good seats and manual! The base Lotus Emira is £60k and the first edition full options is £75k and it looks just a little better. I'm not a red car lover but I think it looks by far the best on this car. I hated the leaked shots. It's a grower and I love the interior.

Definitely a grower, and having the same interior as the m3/4 really solidifies it's seat as part of the M family now.

I love the red on this body style. Really shines in this color and emphasizes the angles of the design.

I love alpine white on bmws

Ordered mine in Sapphire Black with Track Pack and Black Wheels.

I will order mine in Brooklyn Grey, with a manual box. As this is my one and only daily driver, I will go for the M sport seats with Cognac leather.

@@MasterSteve_117 Frankly, whenever a new model comes out, the perceived "sins" of the older cars are forgiven almost out of spite. For example, the E39 M5 was criticized for looking "too pedestrian" for its performance when it came out, and I remember in the "good" Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson preferred the early 2000s Audi S4 to the E46 M3, which he described unfavorably as a "barbecue". Now both the E46 and E39 are placed on thrones with hardcore fans worshiping them at their wheels (think the "We're not worthy!" scene from Wayne's World), and their current prices for a mint example reflect that. When the E9x came out, people said it was "too heavy", the styling was more Pontiac than BMW, and the V8 was not a "true" M3 engine. The F8x was considered ugly when it was first revealed, the switch to turbo power and electric steering rubbed people the wrong way. It's all revisionist history. I'm sure we'll be singing the G8x's praises one to two decades after it's gone out of production.

Same width and weight as the M4 and only about 8 inches shorter. You can also get an easy 11-12% discount on the M4 at the moment.

I respect the choice, but why... I just wonder why go for the M2 being so heavy now, it is waaaaay too heavy. Might as well just pick the M3 or 4, same weight, better power to weight ratio.

But I still think I would get the previous M2 Comp or CS and use the extra money for mods. 3856lbs is heavy weight for such a tiny car, even the old M2 was heavy at 3500lbs. I remember back when we used to think 3300lbs was too heavy. Maybe I am getting old 🤣 and need to accept the fact that kids designing cars at BMW and other manufacturers these days like hefty bulky cars.

@ttran626 all of them are hideous... the G87 does not look like a real BMW though. It looks more japanese than anything else. A mix between the Scion TC, GT86. Thank God fo the 3.0 CSL. That think looks like a real bimmer and hopefully the whole line up is gonna start looking like that from now on. I bought an M car too... but none of the G ones... just went with the older models. I cant stand looking at them. The design lines in the new M cars has been disastrous. I am just relieved the 3.0 came out. That means in the new M series will come looking good and this experimental teenage phase BMW went through will be over.

We have an RS6 and Porsche Macan GTS in black but we ordered this new M2 in black too because I am not liking any other colour except the grey and doing individual colour will push back production for further 3 months. We went for Cognac not bucket seats because that's just more comfortable on daily drive. But now thinking should have gone for a grey and we did go for manual too. Ours going in production this month. We put an expression of interest in October last year and they gave us our Sales Contact in December. We are supposed to take delivery in end of June/early July (hopefully we don't get any delay) 😂

71k🤯 I've been lucky to have owned m235i, m2 & m2c so I'm really on the fence with this one. I like the car & I'm sure the bits I don't like will grow on me but, that price for an m2 is silly regardless of bucket seats and what's with paying more for a Manuel!? The other thing I find annoying is that bmw are being coy with the actual performance figures. I've heard 460hp, 450 & 453? Anyway I'm torn between the new maccan gts or going for another small coupe 🤷‍♂️

My order is for a black car with cognac interior, since my actual M2 Comp is Hockenheim Silver

Does it have an optional front end and back end that look better?

I actually don't like ACC, I find it can't anticipate other road users intentions as well as the driver. I prefer to use the limiter function instead.

Everyone is disliking the design but I for one loves it. I always wanted a 1995 M3, the M2 front fascia & being the last ICE only model that hooked me in. Ordered mine in Zandvoort Blue, MT & Cognac. Dealer is saying 4/23 delivery here in the US, can't wait!

In the UK at least they are limited to 155mph.

I too have ordered an M2, possibly ZB, maybe even white as the black wheels, other bits contract quite well. But I cant see that paying £6300 odd for the carbon seats is worth it, as you get the carbon roof and interior anyway. The fact the you get the additional increase in speed and a track day, (and track tyres) does not add up to me. Tell me I am wrong.

@@scottyk329 Thanks for that reply. Be an M2 or M3 for me, narrowed down to the last two now. Drove down to BMW dealer in Hull in the UK. Looked over an M3 in Isle of Man green - looked superb. The front grill is much more acceptable in reality - stood in front of the actual car which did put me off in pictures tbh. M3 over the M4 for me no contest. Also will likely get a much better dealer contribution for an M3. Obviously will not be any with the new M2.

No Dakar Yellow black carbon roof would be nice.

They need to add a sunroof option

Congrats man, if I had the money I'd order one in an instant. Just such a stunning beast. All the design lines on the car are coherent and I think it's one of BMW's best looking cars.

The only appealing options to me are Toronto Red and Brooklyn Grey. Black hides the beautiful design lines and it hard to keep clean. White is for women. The blue is too light and feminine. I'm disappointed that Portimao Blue or Skyscraper Grey aren't options.

And there was me thinking the colour white is used on many of the worlds Police cars and Ambulances, is the national colour in Japan for race cars, is used on all UN military vehicles around the world and is even the colour of the Stigs helmet and race suit on Top Gear “lol” The only colour that vaguely suits this car is black as you say because it masks the lines of what is the most unattractive M car I think I’ve ever seen. Black of course not being bridal but funeral in colour given anyone not leasing this Mexican built car will be financially buried with the residuals when they come to sell it.

I’m a huge fan of BMW M cars (I’ve owned three, e39 M5, an e92 M3 in white! and the original M2), I just don’t think this version looks as nice as the previous versions.

I’m not a fan of this new M2, apart from the side profile. I’d rather have the previous model M2 CS. These are my particular grips about this model….the horrible front bumper design. The angular grill and those square air intakes just don’t look appealing. The omission of the synonymous BMW design twin headlights & DRL’s is a mistake. The headlights on this model look strangely non BMW. As for the rear end bumper and tail lights…..what’s going on there? Are all the harsh angular lines meant to portray a new direction in design for all future “M cars”? A very boring and limited colour palette. And finally, if this car isn’t built in Germany, then forget it. If I’m purchasing a new BMW, then it must come from Germany 🇩🇪 (as my 2 BMW’s do)

The back end is the worst park of the car, the bumper is too bulky and strange looking, I have never been a fan of the quad exhaust nonsense, two is enough. I know I am in the minority with that opinion, but it also unnecessary and bulky.

I like the Toronto red metallic the best!

See them - not on photos, I did and it does grow on you to the point you actually quite like it on the M3 - not so much on the M4. The former just looks so muscular, aggressive and purposeful. M4 2014 to 2020 is a great looking car IMO. M4 current not impressed tbh
