You might want to take the time to go through the owner's manuals in depth. They will clear up a couple of these questions for you. Yes, they are lengthy and not very exciting to read, but they can help you avoid rummaging around trying to figure out what's going on. For example, the pad in your center console is a wireless phone charger as well as the Key Card access point. (For vehicles without the wireless phone charger option, the pad still functions as the Key Card access point). Check page 79 of the manual for more information about the smartphone tray.

Thanks for the input! I did read the manual but think rummaging is fun too. Learn more by doing 😉

You have very similar taste in cars to me. I was deciding between buying a new M2 and a low milage gt350 lol. Ordered the M2 last month tho. Absolutely love the car

That’s cool! I think you made the right choice. The GT350 makes a better 2nd car. Though I know folks that daily them. Enjoy the new M2!

The radio playing when you unlock and open your door is a setting that you have to purposely set up. I set my M2 to do the same thing. Also, having the music playing as you exit the car or enter the car is activated by the car sensing the remote on your person. That's also a custom set up. As I walked away from my M2 with the remote on me, once I get a certain distance from the car, the car locks itself and then turns off the radio. The reverse happens as you approach the vehicle to get in and start it. Again, all custom settings.

Cool, thanks. I’ll look for that. I knew about the auto lock walking away and turned that off. Didn’t know that the radio playing was also a setting.

I’m the Australian market the front area is a charging pad also - I imagine they are the same. Put your phone in there and see if it charges. Mine works fine

I’ve read that the oem charging pads are making some phones hot anyway, so I think you’re right. I’ll just get a short charging cord for that space. Thanks for subscribing!

Those breaks make a similar sound to supra. I remember renting it for a couple of days and every time I slowed down it sounded like the horn went on. Little did I know on the outside the breaks were actually louder than the horn, even though they had similar tone. Every time I slowed town pedestrians and cars in front of me would flip me off because they though I blew the horn at them, while in reality it was just race brakes...

Fortunately it’s not that loud in the M2. Don’t even notice it. Have a neighbor though with an Audi suv that can hear in my house every time he backs out of the driveway, his brakes squeal so loud.

Here's a feature no one talks about: Those worthless Pirelli tires. I can't wait for mine to wear out so I can upgrade to Michelin Pilot 4S'.

Lol! 100% agree. I had Pirellis on my 340i with no issues, but the M2 overpowers their ability to put down traction. Also, the Pirellis seem to be more temperature sensitive.

There is nothing wrong with @ourgaragedogsstuff brakes in this clip, sounds / looks fully normal. What do you mean with corroded pads by the way? You know these discs are great cast iron and the pads have a lot of metals inside within the pad material and it will ALWAYS corrode, you can just sneeze and the water molicules will hit the surface and it will corrode less or more. The only way to remove it is to brake normally, and sometimes harder. The function of the pad is to clean the friction surface on the disc from corrosion until next time
