I NEVER Knew this Mixer Routing Trick...

In this clip from Episode 11 of the Larry Ohh Show, we are reacting to an amazing video explaining different way to rout tracks from the channel rack to the mixer in FL Studio. Also we are reacting to a clip with a very interesting way to understand compression.
This is a weekly podcast where we talk about everything FL Studio and music production!

You should watch that long video with Avicii, when he sits with FL, in his early days and his way and workflow in FL is really amusing and inspiring.

It doesn't name the track if you select the number on the box in the channel rack. It's useful when you want to send many audio tracks, like, different samples of a vocal track that you want the same processing on, and you already named the mixer track, you route the different samples to that same track without messing with the name of the mixer track. I use that workflow a lot, when I'm recording, etc, without having to jump back and forth with the mixer and the playlist, when I already know where my processed track is, I just record on a clean channel going in, with maybe just a compressor and then I have my processing chain on the next track and I route the main to the processed, so the artist can still hear the FX without me baking them in. Then when the take is done, I just send the clip to the processed track using that box in the channel rack (I usually do a couple at a time after recording a couple takes, if we're not recording-listening to every take), that way it saves me having to constantly jump back between the mixer and the playlist and I can carry on recording.

Did know that if you turn the ratio below 0 it will do upwards compression as well

This was actually always my go-to routing method, but for some reason my FL doesn't have it in my step sequencer anymore 😭 and I have the newest FL.

Press ALT-M on the Channel Rack. Or just click the little arrow on the top left and select "Show Mixer Track Selectors". Have fun!

When I first started recording with FL Studio, using Edison, I didn't realize that each Edison recording needed named as the live instrument before the Edison recording...so, for NUMEROUS songs that followed, the base "nomenclature" that was used for the first tracks of the first songs were automatically attached to EVERY EDISON RECORDING THAT FOLLOWED, UNTIL I DISCOVERED HOW TO CHANGE IT...makes for some serious confusion later on...

Right click on a sample in the sample rack, and all those options as there well, for those whose don’t know shortcuts.
