I moved abroad alone in my 50’s
I moved abroad alone in my 50’s #barbados #solotravel #retirement BUT I am learning that I am not alone here. I visited La Maison Michelle as part of a celebration of women and International Women's Day and was able to meet other likeminded women who had for different reasons made the decision to leave their homes in USA, UK, Canada, Australia and more to build a new life for themselves as single women, traveling solo, or women with and their children and/or husbands.

I was born there. Left when I was 10. Lived most of my life in the US. I wouldn't move back. Have only visited 3 times in 50 years. But definitely would like to visit more often.

Hi Jae, just curiius to know why you chose to live in Barbados. I'm Bajan been living in UK for 60 years. Have a home in St Peter. Usually visit yearly, but not since 2021. Had to bring my my Mum back to UK. Better for her here as sadly she has early onset Dementia. Enjoy your new life. Speightstown is my local area for shopping etc.
