Ive put 45 amps into that geared fathub, you just have to take out the connector, it will melt. Seriously improves the climbing ability.

Totally agree with you, using Pedal assist makes E-Biking a more fulfilling & enjoyable ride. A sense of accomplishment on a longer/harder journey. You built yourself a "True Ebike" in my opinion. Note - A minimum of 1,000w motor I think is required for serious off-road. I'm working on a 20S/1P 31Ah (Around 66V) LifePo4 A123 pouch cell build on version 2 of my EEB (BBSHD) build with new ASI BAC 855 controller. Will post an upload once built & tested. Awesome build & upload. 😊👍👌Cheers 🍻

That looked great fun, I've got a voilamart rear wheel with the controller build in the wheel 48v 1500w with the sw900 display. Could do with a bigger voltage battery but I don't think it would take it.(new to ebikes & haven't got a clue) wish I'd got 1 of your kits but we all learn by our mistakes. Keep up the amazing content

Those Inbuilt controllers are really not good, they fail rather easily so bare that in mind. I Had 3 of those hub motors from Voilamart and each one failed with the same exact issue which was a communication problem between the controller and motor. As for voltage yes they will allow you to run a higher voltage. I successfully tested a 72V pack and it handled the power fine not so sure about the long term judging by the gauging of the wires.

I am 165 cm (5'5") and this bike would be too tall for me, but I really like it. Do you think that by sawing off the saddle tube and replacing the handlebar stem with a shorter one, I could use it comfortably? With the saddle at a minimum, how many centimeters are there between the seat of the tube in the bike frame and the point where the saddle would rest if the tube was shorter? I need it to figure out how many centimeters I can make up by sawing the tube. Thank you very much.

Biggest thing I hate about that ebike Andy is the proprietary battery, motor and controller. Mostly the battery is the problem with unknown cell quality and how long it will last and then pay twice as much for the same Amp-hr as in the aftermarket. You know your way around that stuff but even a challenge for a man of your technical capability and why I never would buy an ebike like that. Always prefer a large generic battery with BBSHD on an XL frame like you have built in the past. That bike looks nice while it lasts tho and then you have to overpay to replace parts because they aren't generic and ubiquitous. Honorable mention for that Mustang 5.0 you show in the background of your video. Didn't think that existed in the UK. Btw, I grew up not too far from Dearborn, MI, the home of Henry Ford and worked as an automotive engineer. My friends and I grew up modifying Mustangs and Camaros and other muscle cars. I am older than you and grew up when the first examples of these came into being. You no doubt know who Carrol Shelby is. Cheers from America.

Completly agree feeling of synergy is much better than spinning. I think it makes you ride better too you can feel what's going on with the bike. Set your bike to 90% of your top end speed without the motor, tweak the amps and kickin to get rid of the boring stuff which is basically getting up to your top end.

Are you going to put throttle on it? If so will you try to get past the newer 20MPH on throttle most new bikes are coming with. My ebike is a later 2019 early 2020 Himiway All Terrain that has none of those limits. It has full throttle at any PAS from 1-9 and no speed limit at full throttle does 30-31 MPH on flat ground. Thats the way they all should be IMHO.

What erks me with that bike is that they've gone full downhill style on the bike with the 201mm forks but put sand tires on it. xD But in reality if you did take it down the downhill trails it would be really crap, i mean technical trails it could possibly do, but anything flow you'd be in that dangerous position to come off and whack your nuts against a tree. I mean i've seen E-bikes at the bike parks, but none with stupidly fat tires.
