I Messed Up My First Big Bike Road Ride! Module 1 / 2 Training

In this video I head back to Pitstop Training in Newport on the Isle of Wight for some more training for my Mod 1 and 2 tests. I was really excited about this session as Paul had mentioned that we would be going on a road ride rather than doing manouvres etc.... This was music to my ears as it meant I would be using a bigger bike on the road for the first time, which is great as living on the island we have to get on a ferry and ride 40 minutes on unfamiliar mainland roads to get to the MOD 1 test centre. It is rather helpful to be familiar wih how the bike is on the road. Sadly I made a mistake before we had even set off, which really turned what should have been a great ride into a bit of a stressful nightmare. Sorry Paul, you must have thought I was rubbish at taking instructions! We all make mistakes, onwards and upwards. On this ride I am using a Honda Hornet 750

@shutinyanks Deffo something amiss with your school. Mine always has brand new bikes (and some older ones too). When I booked this lesson, he told me I'd be on the Hornet, which was great as I rode it on my first Mod 1 lesson. When I got there he rolled another brand new Hornet out of his container in a lovely grey colour. Your guy is not investing in his business. I did read somewhere that my school has the highest pass rate in the country so if you get really stuck get yourself over here 💪

MOD1 is booked for next month and i have another lesson as well as a lesson on the day so with a bit of luck i will get past it and onto MOD2 so i can be done with this long slog as i did my CBT in march of this year and its been one long haul due to availability of lessons to get to this point. Those over the ear single earpieces are just Aweful because everybodys ear dimensions are different and the DVSA only has a couple of different sizes usually😕 I failed my MOD 2 test because I had so much difficulty hearing the examiner i missed Two very crucial lifesaver checks😮My fault entirely because I should have remembered that we wont be failed if we miss the examiners instructions as long as what ever we do is done safely🤔My Riding school uses the Sena 50s system which is compatible with all the Sena helmet systems right up to the Latest built in Helmet system for The Shoei Neotec 3. The school has at least 40 Shoei full face helmets fitted with Sena earpieces and mics. So they only have to clip on a total of 6 external Sena comms units to cover 2 students for each of the 3 Instructors🙂 My Shoei Neotec 3 Helmet with a built in Sena SRL3 Intercom is fully compatible with the schools Sena System using bluetooth pairing and is two way comms so we can talk to the instructor at any time we need to🙂 I am doing my second MOD2 test next Thursday @10:18 and if the examiner will let me I am going to plug in my In Ear Canal ACS Earplug/Comms speakers into their comms unit instead of using their over the ear speaker🤔 If they won't allow me to use them then I will simply do what I think the exaniner has asked me to do and not allow myself to get distracted from riding safely if I cannot understand the instruction due to poor comms😶 Sort out the comms and I am 100% sure you will pass your Mod 2 easily because your are a good, safe and confident rider😎
