It would be really cool if you add one of those built-in bookmarks where it just has a ribbon attached to it, it would also be cool if you put a ring tied to the end of the ribbon That way you can keep the ring of power with the book as well as make it useful

@@littleleakyleakythere if you're in Europe you can apply for a cap in Normandy or paris in "reliure" or there's a DNMADE in école Estienne. Otherwise there's le Vésinet but you have to pay for those and then you always have the option to ask a bookbinder if they'd take you as an apprentice.

Honestly, this sounds like a perfect candidate for renewing interest via social media. Set up a KZread channel, place your phone on a tripod while you're working and just have at it. Make it calm, with lower range vocal tones and maybe some voice over narration to describe your processes, and I guarantee there are people who would watch it.
It's really cool that you combined traditional technology with modern one.

Thats not even addressing the time it would take when your career isnt in craftsmanship and you have other things in your life to worry about. Weird question ngl.

@@octavia8836 not a weird question, all kids have shop class where I am from and when I was 11 all of us got to do knife handles and sheaths. Leatherwork and copper inlays. All knifes looked good at the end. You don't need a lasercutter for 3mm wood. A jigsaw and time works well too. It will not be as good as Nerdforges result but it will look good enough.

Now that books value went up a few thousand dollars. That's some professional work.

It's the value of her skills and knowledge of leather work, metal casting, etc and the time and effort it goes into doing something like this. Hand made things are far more valuable and expensive than mass produced factory made things. Especially when they are done well and are one of a kind.

I really hate to come into an awesomely perfect project like this, and start talking about "YoU ShOuLd HaVe".... but she really should have put a few LED's along the edges (and maybe have a little slide that let's them raise just about the depth of the pages) so it could light itself up too. I only say this because she already broke out the LED's for the cover, a couple on the top or side would just be fucking amazing.
The hair coloring change makes me respect just how long this took. Keep up the amazing work and craftsmanship ❤

This will be found in an old backwoods library 300 years from now and seen as a classic piece of handmade craftsmanship.

Stitching your book pages together is actually good for the book. It extends the book’s life and its pages do not rip off as easy as glued books.
I love your videos, I discovered your channel when I was battling cancer, your videos kept entertained as I couldn’t do much as far as moving due to being extremely weak from malnutrition before I was diagnosed so my muscles at the time wasted away plus when I was hospitalized I ended up aspirating which prompted me being rushed to the icu and intubated it was a nightmare for me but watching your videos made it bearable since a lot of the projects focused around things I like such as video games!
The trowel as microphone is just the cherry on top of this whole video ❤

Thats a good idea but in my opinion it would be a little too much. I think she she should keep the book still looking like pages and not stray away the attention from the cover.

I took a course for it in high school alllllll those many years ago, lol, and just standard hand binding is a LOT of work, never mind actual works of art like this one. The creativity of so many people on social media is just…🤯😱😍

This is the most breathtakingly stunning book cover redesign i’ve ever seen, and I am also a LOTR fan! I love this so much :)
Somebody’s going to find this book in an attic somewhere long after you’re dead and approach it with an outstretched hand of cautious curiosity and awe in their eyes. They’re going to look at it thinking they’ve discovered a forbidden story from long ago only to open it up and realise it’s that one classic they read in high school.
Wow. I would love to hire someone to do that type of work on certain books. Truly displays the treasure of the contents within by such an exquisite cover.
This deserves more praise then it has rn, this is a piece of art, elegant and beautiful. A masterpiece and show of great craftsmanship.

@@izzyq9200 Wizards of the Coast decided to completely disregard and disrespect the original vision Tolkien had for several of his characters in their depictions of several of the characters. For instance, they made Aragorn black despite him being SPECIFICALLY described in the book as being fair skinned. Simply because they wanted to “be more inclusive”.🤢🤮
