I make turkey calls out of wood, I get my slate off of Shipley’s Outdoors or Shipley’s Supplies I can’t remember, they have different sizes of slate and they also have soundboards of glass and I think aluminum, maybe more

Back when I used to chew an dip I'd use my empty Grizzly can to make an Owl hooter by cutting aprox a inch or so notch in the side of the top and a slightly longer notch in the side of the bottom part of the can both no more than 1/4" wide When you put the top back on the can both notches should line up to make the opening You sort of blow across and into the notch while holding the can vertical so the length of the notch runs up and down I face the top portion to my left you adjust the tone and sound by moving the top to close off or open up the hole Experiment with is till you find the sweet spot This call and a Crow call will get a reaction if there are Turkeys in the area and in the evening will help locating the roost Good Huntin
