It's such a strong example of a person who demands respect from others off the bat, but demands that others earn their respect first before they'll give it out in small doses. It is pure entitlement from a person who believes simply by virtue of being a white straight cis male that anyone who is off by that identity by however many degrees is automatically lower on the social hierarchy, and is therefore his to treat as he pleases, completely unaware of how this makes him the worst scum on the planet and the reason everything is as bad as it is.

I can attest to this behavior firsthand. Want to know the easiest way to find out how blindly narcissistic someone is? Don't engage with them at all. The more self-centered they are, the louder they'll screech ME at you. "Why won't you talk to ME? What did *I* do?? This is hurting ME!! ME ME ME ME MEEEEEE!!!!!" The tirades just get longer and longer, until they've exhausted themselves playing the victim, and then pretend like they have some kind of moral high ground because you set a clear boundary for your own mental health. Sad, really.

Those who project the hardest are always the ones who are covering for themselves the hardest, they know they're different to the beliefs that they want to hold but said beliefs also oppose their very existence, so they project so pathetically and so desperately until inevitably their personal lives eventually are drenched up and put on display for everyone to see because someone in their lives eventually can't stand the hypocrisy anymore of their inherent BS. Same for Alex Jones and his trans-porn on his phone along with having threesomes with Roger Stone, but sure, continue preaching that transphobia and homophobia, we all know you low-key love the community, gotta hate what you love!

You know, the whole narrative of "facts before feelings" comes specifically from those who are completely unaware that feelings/emotions are an integral part of animals and they are LITERALLY physical. They are chemical reactions, isn't that real enough for them? Of course, if someone is offended over "African American people being around" or "women being in more places than before", that's due to their specifical narrow-minded beliefs and lack of compassion and understanding rather than someone actively hurting them. Their feelings are real, it's just that they exist out of malice.

Facts may not care about your feelings, but your feelings definitely care about facts and will twist them all sorts of horrid ways if left unchecked. For example, I used to hate sex work. Turns out, I just don't like sex and was projecting my repulsion onto an industry that is unrecognized and vulnerable to bad actors. It wasn't until I confronted my asexuality and reviewed my worldview with that bias in mind did I realize that they were just people trying to get by, who frankly should be paid more for what they put up with.

@@RacingSnails64 There's a fun addendum to the story. After re-examining how I felt about sex work, I decided that while I was fine with the individual, I still didn't like the greater industry because it was abusive and exploitive. No other industry would exploit its workers like that! Then Uber's dodgy business practices came to light and broke my entire reasoning. Now, I'm not saying that Uber employees and sex workers are the same. After all, Uber employees have the right to sue their employer, sex workers don't even get that minor comfort. But the way they get treated is so similar that I can't help but feel that there's a common thread between them. And that common thread is capitalism and the coercive nature of money in today's world. People in all industries are forced to do work that they hate in order to keep a roof over their head and food on their table, and that ain't right anywhere. To solve the root cause of all this exploitation would require the upheaval of our entire modern society. Which is a long way of saying that I ended up becoming a socialist because of this line of questioning revealing the hypocrisy of capitalist rhetoric. And when the workers of the world finally decide to implement new laws and protections to ensure that their rights are protected, I'm going to try my hardest to make sure that sex workers have a seat at the table :P
