There's no reason to cheat under any circumstance wish devs took deeper and more severe actions into cheaters but it'll never happen. The most smart, sane and skilled SoT cheater

the rediculous thing is, it wouldn't be hard to write a script for the server to detect these speed hacks. All the server has to do is calculate how fast the player is going, and if it goes above lunge or cannon speed, it triggers a more in depth analysis of your record of activities and movement. heck, you could even have the server check there is a valid reason you went over run speed if you wanted.

I ran a brig in opencrew yesterday - players joining and leaving as i sailed about - 6 players in a row had those curses and then a newbie sailor joined. It was bizarre.

Yeah they always hackusate when they start losing 😒 Cheaters often have the biggest egos and can't take it when they burst.

Imagine being so bad at SOT you need hacks and still lose 😂😂😂

I really think hourglass should have some sort of time limit to prevent matches from dragging on. Personally think the battle zone should shrink periodically until the entire zone becomes red sea and both ships take constant damage until one finally sinks. You could still turtle sure but both sides would have much less margin of error to screw up which helps draw the match to a close.

@makaiosr the long match lengths are nice for gameplay. But for progression towards the curses they are a real annoyance. Mainly because the game doesn't take into account the nuance of every battle. There are many ways to win and lose and the game. Whether you put up a hard fight for half an hour or just killed yourself within the 1st 10 seconds. The game still treats it the same. Which is ridiculous to me. Same with winning. You can get into a hard fought battle and win but the game doesn't care how hard you tried for it. The entire rep system is broken in my opinion because of this.

Other than SoT, I play a lot of Valorant. While I'd love an RR-type system for reputation in SoT, I cant help but think the mode would turn into arena-stlye farming of players, leading to a poor user experience. If they found a way to properly implement something then I agree, it would be nice.

@makaiosr that's my thoughts exactly. In order to rework the rep system it would require a lot of work and fine tuning on rare's end to implement. A simple time limit seems like the best solution to me. Keeps the matches going so they don't drag on for to long. But that's just my opinion.

Appreciate the kind comment! You definitely do not need what I have to record, a pc with 30 series specs and intel i5 either 12th gen or 13th would be good. But basic specs I have are: RTX 4080 Intel i9-13900k 32gb ddr5 6400mhz

I just use Nvidia and clip the last 20 min if anything happens, and then open up obs and record there for better quality

I like how there are no skilled hackers in this game, its always just noobs who think they are cool and unstoppable because they dont know that blunderbus-eye of reach combo exists 😂😂😂

I actually had a cheater of this type before and when i called him out on this he claimed it was a glitch and he wasnt even a new guy! was very easy seeing a dozen mermaids spawn. Hackers and cheaters have no shame whatsoever

There are launches that can look like hacks but are really just fun glitches.. but yeah the keg spawning and being able to speed on demand is definitely a cheat.
