We used to work at a historical park and we were in the fort area of the park as interpreters. We loved it. We used to wear short gowns alot because of the versatility that they had and we were interpreting working class women, maids to the hospital and the officers quarters. It allowed so much movement and wasnt as stuffy or heavy as the dresses.

They're great! I really enjoyed making it!
This looks great on you! I'm not really in love with a lot of the 18th century garments for me but I'm glad others have fun with it.

Thank you!
I’m going to have to try this pattern out! I’m newer to sewing and this looks like a perfect way to break into 18th century clothing. Thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to see what you come up with next!

Nice!
Nice set! The simplicity is so elegant yet so useful. Im working on an outlander ensemble, altho not sure, here in Australia, im ever going to get to need to wear a woolen skirt of 5 yards! But thankfully thats not the point!

It was quilting cotton, so 43 inches, I think?
